Hi! I'm from the other module group and I've been greatly amused by the postings here.
Actually looking for laptop deals but ended up bumping into this forum and I can say I was quite shocked.
I'm dying in pharma.... very boring... esp cGmP.... can ZZZzzzzzzz... and where got high standards? All the top students go to petrolchemical option.
Sigh.... cant wait for my turn for attachment. Going overseas as well, and I hope I will be able to experience such interesting things... esp in China ...lolz! -

See that u are going overseas for attachment as well...
An advice here: get all the things done and get very prepared before take off, if not u are going to have a game of "survival" in a foriegn country...
Trust me it will make u stress out if u do not have enough info as what to do and where to go...
But thats where the fun part is... -

Doing quite alot of research and neglecting my studies. Result is most of the common tests didnt do well, only process control got A. ZZZzzzzzzzzz
Anyway, where did you go and how much did u pay for ur air-tickets. Seems like the main concern for most of us is getting good and cheap tickets. -

i still think petrolchemical option more interesting, seen their notes and is 10000000x more interesting than Good Manufacturing Practices or the stupid Validation. Memorise so many things nv come out....

Well if u are going to China, I am not sure abt it... Aussie, 1000++ for SIA and 900++ for Qantas. Better go hunt for ur own tickets, don go to agency, they charge more... I dun think you all will know me (cept for the lecturers) coz I also dunno you pple.
Pharma and Petrol basically have the same subjects except for 2, then another core module (Unit Operations) Pharma and Petrol students will go to the same lectures for about 9-10 weeks then will split into their perspective lectures (different timing)
Not much difference, but given another choice, I will choose Petrolchemical. More interesting la.... Anyway, this is my opinion only. I'm sure GLS is a very GOOD lecturer and you guys will be happy to go Pharma.... lolz!!!!

yaya.... all of u in oversea so can enjoy la.Go holidays no much work to do! Not like us got to stay in here. Everydays wake up at (5am) pay so little!!!! U think good huh! cGMP is imporant in pharm industry as we need to follow the actual doctument.
Don think going oversea is good too as u will be attach to U so u don't use what u study here n apply to there too. Local attachment is better for real industry experience! But like i say u will wake up very early lor... so what is 8am lecture! not kick liao...... -
Not say wat u study in poly does not apply to ur attachment in Uni when u are at overseas. Geoffrey in UQ is applying wat Dr. Murthy had teached us in ENV (almost all) to his research here...
Depends on wat project u received when u are in the Uni... the usage of ur knowledge may vary from 10% to 90%...
But I agree with Beca that for real industry experience, local attachment is good... -
muahahaha... my work also very industrial based... cos my project is proposed by another company 1... so very industrial project... very engineer work... but hor bazket... local get paid... overseas pay... wah piang... spend nearly 8k liao... buay tahan...
