Hostels in NUS/NTU?

Recently in the media there was some comments about the government wanting to build more hostels in our local campus .
The reason is simple , increase chances of contact with the opposite sex , foster chances of romance then marriage then before you know it 3-4 children to support population growth .
Any comments about these proposals ? -
10 Yrs ago I still remember the govt wanting the Public to have not more than 2 kids. They came up with this Courtesy Plans... Posters stuck all all the Island!!!
Now what has really went wrong with the Govt! -
Building more hostels? I think what they will get is more unwanted babies. Hmm, then again, that means there are more children and that's what the govt wants, isn't it?

how come the government feels no shame whatsoever in blatantly manipulating delicate matter such as this? Isn't it enough that many of its bright young people are complaining about being herded to sdu for the same reason?

i heard from some hostelites tt hostel life is quite hectic as there are endless activites to organise/take part in...
those couples tt managed to get hitched wif each other might be juz coincidence...
and oso..in a way...i think it will encourage unwanted babies (if the couples are not careful)...

maybe they should reserve one hall at which only students who are not attached yet can apply.. :p

Aiyah,this kinda things like getting attached will come naturally 1,no need building more hostels just so to try and increase the rate of couples getting hitched.What will be will be,so just let nature takes it course lor.Anyway,if they wanna create more hostels in NTU/NUS,then might as weil create some in polys so as to help foster romance between poly grads,ehehe
