  wait long long la.....ppl with L1R4 with 20plus go nursing can go medicine??!
  then y ppl say sch of med damm hard to get in?if u can go ,sing would be full of doctors liao....ppl hu can go sch of med r those damm bloody ultra smart ppl.

  SIM got bachelor of health science for nursing..awarded by The University of Sydney..but it's a part-time..there are other courses in health science like Medical Radiation Technology,Occupational Therapy & Physiotherapy..but all part-time too..nyp also got occupational therapy & physiotherapy..if u got A level cert,can go to nyp occupational/physiotherapy too

  NUS,NTU or SMU duno got courses for nursing or not..maybe u can email them and make enquiry abt it??

  Medicine in Uni only takes in top 'A' Level students, never poly students. Currently nursing poly grads can always go overseas to do a nursing degree, but very soon NUS will start a Degree for Nursing, so just hold your breath.
  Starting pay for these nurses with degree will be alot higher than those with diplomas.

  i got 2 more years to 'O' level. enuff time anot?
  hope poly got set up sociology,psychology,social work. ill prefer this field.

  Definitely lor, if you're taking 'O's in 2 years time it'll be like 8 more years before you go university.

  I'm sad that public still has this perception that Diploma in nursing are for those who doesnt score very well in 'O' levels. If thats the case, all nurses are stupid?
  Anyway, some or i should say minority of the nurses in Singapore are not genuie in taking care of the patients, or rather they wanna have a secure job in case of any retrentchment. Singapore are so short of nurses, nurses will never be out of job. Some even flew to other countries where nurses are treated as nightingale rather than maids and servants to the patients in singapore.
  I must confess that i obtain a bachelor in nursing to 'cover my buttock' in case thats too many diploma nurses on the streets. But to me, the singapore nursing board (SNA) is doing too little to promote the status of nurses locally. Izzit all the old maids holding the SNA positions deeply believed that we, nurses are a pair of 'helping hands' to the doctors or maids to the patient?
  We should be look upon as professionals like any accountant and teachers. rather than low class healthcare providers.
