its quite interesting to have fun discussion on history.
at least i know rbs70 is very into it.
let's start off the topic which i had with rbs70, but expand on it.
kangxi, yongzheng & qianlong, who you think was a better emperor and why?
It's okie.. if u want to continue....
I think Yongzheng...
when he took over Kangxi, the treasury was almost empty as Kangxi spent lavishly and was fighting many wars. Kangxi reigned for 60 years.
when Yongzheng took over, he saved a lot of money, he was better known as a stingy emperor.
he built again the treasury for his son Hongli to spend again...
i failed my history lessons....
well done bro Sam.seah...
I am very very interested in the Qing dynasty and Mongol Yuan dynasty too.
y so, because I am amazed how a minority nomadic tribe can conquer and rule over China...
Mongol warriors are very good horse man....
from my understanding (probably from History Channel SCV #401), each horseman had 4 horses....
hence, they can covered huge landscrape in a short period of time....

fm mongolia to almost everywhere, due to genghis khan..
for that alone, they should really be the amazing race on this earth..
n no matter how many horses they had, they can only rid 1 horse at a time..
Eat

Fuck

For Qian Long.

they got different stations (or so called pit-stops)....
the horsemen will take a break at the pit stops.... change horses (for fresher legs) and kept their attacking fast and furious.

Ming Dynasty was falling apart, the citizens already not happy with the Ming Emperor.
and this Ming Emperor also don't know how to use his Generals.
This Wu Sangui opened the doors for the Manchu because his beloved concubine Chen Yuan Yuan was taken by Li Zhicheng and this Wu Sangui do not want Li Zhicheng to be emperor.
Moreover, Prince Regent Dorgon promised a Prince position for Wu Sangui. So why not? Why he still tight for Ming?? He opened the door to Qing and can be a 王爷。

This emperor enjoyed peace and prosperity for a long long time and he become complacent... Qua long has plenty of women, no doubt he is a good emperor groomed by his grandfather from the start.
but what he was not aware was that Europe and russia were getting strong, his time was a time for industrialisation for Europe, during his reign, Europe came up with the steam ship, the trains, guns, cannons and this Qianlong still thought that China was still the most powerful country in the world with his eight banners methodlogy and he think no one can win China...
That was why it kept falling apart, u think lah, ppl use steam ship and train t do business, china still using sampan and horse carriage. Who make more money?? Money makes the world go round..

I watched the history of Genghis Khan.
he was the son of a tribal leader bu his father was poisoned to death by a rival tribe. Then his tribal uncles left his family and he was the sole breadwinner for his family. He slowly built up a tribe again and from there, he unified all of the tribes in Mongolia and became Khan. He had a lot of setbacks to and was once captured by the xixia people...
the thing about Genghis khan is he was open, open to all kinds of things, he embraced all kinds of religion and invited many talents to work with him, therefore, he started his quest on Middle East, Europe and china...

u watch the drama show of genghis khan? i watch that many times.. i also buy a few times.. very nice.. when compare to sg, taiwan, korea or hongkong, all consider time wasting trash..
beside, genghis not capture by xixia.. capture around 16 years old by one of his father sub-tribe.. tai chi wu ren.. lucky he escape to create the legend of the greatest conqueror of all time, from a very small base..
