A good idea?? Worth considering??

Ah Guan
Best advice to you is to.... have a off day a week....

Brother Thomas,
The hirer of the chevvy epica is my daddy mahz!! LOL
Normally,
before u start driving for your "Potential Hirer", u need to talk "Terms & Conditons" verbally with him....
1) Starting shift hours, if you are driving night, try to go for 4pm to 4am. (reason - currently, by 11pm, the streets in CDB is already desserted, hence, earlier shift changing will help you to generate more income before midnight).
2) Pump your own diesel, do not "agree" to pump diesel based on mileage (reason - if the engine is running, the mileage is constant, hence, if your partner sleeps in the cab, the diesel run goes into your expenditure). Get your own diesel card from Esso or Shell.
3) Late on shift change. Ocassionally, your partner may be held up in traffic or dued to personal engagement. Normally, there is a charge of S$15-$25 per hour. If it is only on ocassion, then give and take (no charge), but if you do mention this "Condition", then chances the HIRER will not take you for granted.
4) Drivers' monthly / quarterly driving bonus. This is an entitlement to the Registered Hirer. Some hirer (steady) shares with relief drivers provided the relief drives EVERYDAY (7 days a week). If the Hirer is NOT WILLING TO SHARE, then, you can opt drive 5-6 days a week.
The above mentioned is some of the essential points you MUST TAKE NOTE. Not to be too calculative on small issues (it will spoilt a good partnership) but the important ones must be stated and clarify clearly.
Cheers.
It is good to have some road exposures before turning into limousine taxis....
Dun depends too much on GPRS gadgets to bring you around. Learnt the short routes to the destinations and traffic conditions at various hours of the day.
Whatever you learnt will goes into your knowledge forever.

Sharing our knowledge and opinions with forummers are the reason why the limo forum are established.
The final decision is still up to each individuals.
As driving needs alot of concentration, sufficient rest and sleep is a must. Hence, try to arrange a off day every week. (preference on Monday or Tuesday as the business opportunities are much lower than the normal days).
Also have to clarify if....
1) you are sick
2) going on holiday
how much u need to compensate the hirer.
The market practice is half shift rental.
If the hirer need a off day.... (also)...
then he should be sharing his company's entitlement with you as you are likely to drive and share his rental liabilities at 50:50 ratio.
Some hirers are very calculative on small issues, u can skip him... Go to the next one on the list... It is still the relief's market.
Thank u

It is never easy to get a prefect partnership....
hence,
always give and take......
but...
Terms & Conditions need to be clearly clarified (like the one stated in the above posts).
what is the point going into a driving partnership if one partner flips and flops ?
It will definitely affect the driving mood of that day, if your partner is 30mins late everyday for shift changing and the diesel is not pumped up.
So, the common routine practices need to be done up one hour before you change shift with your partner, same goes to him.
