8+,10+,18+ meter, why???

I still don't understand why CDG can offer 8,10,18 plus meter?
If there is a req for Maxi or Limo, just charge the flats fee of 50 or 45 respectively lah. Why must pamper the pax?
Received a phone call today from a cap kao request maxi as need to move some furniture. Quoted him 50 but he say the trip is only 5mins and he only willing to pay 25. I ask him go sleep with the snake.

Flat fee only for AP Transfer and hourly disposal, approve by PTC......
The rest must go by meter, so some scholars come out with this brilliant on call rate....
Current Mercedes booking once in a blue moon will get.....advance Mercedes booking, plenty, but, too many competition, very hard to bid successfully....
1830pm Fullerton Hotel to RWS......$18 + $3(CBD) + $3.90(start fare) +$0.90 (peak hr).......Pax close door, waw piang already $25.80.....

According to LTA.....
If your roof top has.....
you need to switch on your meter.....once you got a passenger on board....
Like it or not... it is a regulatory offence if you are ferrying a passenger (even your family members) if your Meter is not switch on.
Even if you are on Hourly disposal or AP transfers.... you need to ON THE METER as well. And do the necessary (like K1+K4) or Job details button for CDG Limos.
The additional surcharges (by TS) are add on for different calls, specify requesting for a Limousine cab on - (current) and/or (Advance).
It is a market practise for many years liao. As not all passengers are willing to payFixed Prices and as bro rbs70 has replied - the fixed prices are only "legalised and/or recognised by LTA" is the Changi Airport Limousine counter.

I just came back from "shifting house job".
15mins journey (becos of rain & traffic), from Leonie Hill to Bhamo Rd (off Balestier Rd),
50pts. but the traffic from Bishan to River Valley Road takes almost 40mins... knn.

Limo surcharges are in the industry for a long while....
it won't be easy to change and I reckoned that it won't changed as all Taxis need to Switched on the Meter as long as there is a passenger in the vehicle, which includes a family member.....

W/O surcharges.... no limousine drivers will want to waste time proceeding and waiting for the job....
Of course, getting fixed rate is better than Meter + 8, +10 or +18.... but is has been the market practise for a long time.....
You want to change it ? very unlikely it will happened....
Only for Private limousines, as we do not have a meter to add these surcharges have to quote fixed rates.
