Last night I pick 4 US Marines at Orchard Twrs to Changi Naval Base,than they ask me my Hp number as they wanted me to pick them up tonight for some sight seeing...so how do I charge them ? what is the rate for this type of services ? do I have to ON the meter when they are on board my taxi ? pls help coa I a Newbie....thank you in advance.

By LTA regulations.... you have to switch on the meter everytime a passenger come aboard your cab (regardless whether it is a hourly booking job or a street pickup). But you do adjustment on your meter by pressing F1+F4 .... right ?
As the passengers you have are considered as private arrangement, which means, your guests and you must agreed to a specified hourly charge.
You can refer to the limousine industry practise by limousine cabs, currently at S$50 per hour, minimum 2 hours. A 10 mins grace will be given to the new hour (for eg, 2hrs, 15mins = 3hours of booking). If it is a 2hrs 5mins, then consider 2hrs lah.
Explain to them in a nice way. The hourly booking includes ERP Tolls, diesel run and other expenses like parking the cab (parking fee) as the guys might want to go on foot at certain locations.
Also plan your locations...
where to start, & where to stop. Do it smoothing and everything should be fine. Best is to ask for a deposit if they gets out of cab every now and then.... in case they run away... or cannot be located, you won't be burnt badly.

Reminder.... at all these while until you send them to the last location.....
Your METER must be on. (Taxi signage as HIRED).
The authority is especially alert when there are White Rabbits on shore. Dued to the past history, many drivers (regardless normal or limo) tries to take advantage of the situation as most of these foreign soldiers are not familiar with our local taxis' structures.

Oops sorrie... it should be K1 + K4... haven't been driving a taxi for almost 10 months... lost.

Press K1 + K4 (together)
give you a optional setting and from there, you can use K3 (for $10 multiple) and K4 for ($1 changes).
It should be the same for all taxi meter as they are all regulated by LTA, contracted by Soon Heng.

Normally when pax reach their destination,I'll press stop meter & than F4....is it the correct way ?

Yes...I have no network or lobang at this point of time...so everyday sweep here & there lor,press K4 is for Total up the amount...I have press wrongly a few times that the amount I suppose to collect had gone....some pax just dun admit the amount...end up I take whatever they give me....:(

Your meter didn't come with a Printer ? (normally, can pressed on k1 for a few seconds on hold... then the receipt will come out)... with receipt... how to argue ?

Re-start meter again... later kena F by pax... hahaha.
So, you need to press K2 and hold for 3 seconds... the meter will jump back to "HIRED" ....

Hi bro Jdil,I had try pressing the meter according to what u have said & it work but when I press K1 & K4 together...it appear 11111111...flash awhile than chg to 22222222 flash awhile & it keep jumping up tp 99999999...no idea what's going on....

all meter are regulated by LTA... and Soon Heng (at Sin Ming) is their contractor...
You many want to pay them a visit and ask them about it......

All meters should have the same functions.
I haven't driven for SMART yet (hopefully not)....
I had done with CDG for almost 8yrs.
6months with SMRT Mercedes, 6 months with Silver, 10 months with Trans Mercedes before I turned Priate Limo.
All meters run almost the same.
