Caught my eye next door on one thread pertaining to legal right.
..I'm not..
Sometime we might fall into legal issue with taxi company.
Anybody had encounter before?

Why you post thread so æ·± one ?
Legal rights are normally terms & conditions written on statement in the "hirer agreement" with respective companies....
As the agreement are drawn up by them (taxis companies)... they tend to "protect their interests", rather than the drivers.
Once you signed on the hirer agreement, meant you are bound by their terms & conditions.

Legal rights ?
Your binding hirer agreement is the ONLY obligation you have with the taxi company.
They have the right over you (their backside covered).... U won't find a loophole in their terms & conditions.
Which company will have loopholes in their contract ?

Not talking about hirer agreement la, that one of course cannot challenge.
Like just heard about this case. This limo TD had this verbal agreement to ferry his regular client's kids to school everyday.
All this while, things are ok, payment by his client also very prompt, normally he will pay half monthly in advance to this TD.
Of course, this TD provide him the upmost services, only things is agreement only by verbal not written.
Than something happen recently, his client so angry and terminate this TD service, and demand him to return the pro-rated money back to him cause he pay in advance.
This TD also pai kia type, refuse to return the money and even want his client to pay him the damages for termination of his service result in lost of income.
Even if from start, they have draft an agreement, does it mean, things won't happen.
Than this clients sent him a lawyer letter, you know la, rich man ma. So now this TD blur liao.
Legal right? Do we have?

The TD will likely ends up paying for the legal fee as well....
(pls type in thread opener lah)... I hardly visit next door liao...

But since verbal agreement is binding, it should work both way, right?
This TD was dismissed of service due to a reason which is ridiculous.
So now he got 21 days to answer to the lawyer letter.

That's why.... he should have consulted the PROFESSIONALs Drivers
like us... I dun know about you 
(ever see the world one)...... but I can at least provide the poor chap some advice....But since he is not in Limo Forum... then too bad.
.Anything need to settle personally... going to court will have to spend more $$$$$$ which at the end of the day... TD will suffers.

Don't know him la, but still got many cases, one day post one can last until next year..

Shouldn't he consult a lawyer?
Verbal agreement cannot be a contract.
Contract must be in black and white, best if also witness by lawyer.

Verbal agreement is a binding contract... go do google search.
even in banking... when a client said he is coming in with extra funds to top up his trading account (w/o cutting his positions, we have to agree to him)..
Many people dun not know the consequences behind verbal agreement...

His client suspect he fxxx around with his maid, cause everyday through and flo, the phinoy maid also follow.
Than his wife check the maid handphone, saw the TD number inside, knn, good deals..heehee

You recorded the verbal agreement, what can I said.
When it's verbal agreement between 2 person, who can prove who said what?
Unless of course, there is record of money transferred between banking accounts.
If paid by hard cash, how to prove? Unless got picture or video proof, or the time to write down the serial no.

The main problem is, TD where got money, time and strength to entangle this kind of situation.
Maybe he really never mess around with his maid, so feel injustice just being terminated for no valid reason.
Question is how to protect ourselves from this kind of situation?
