SMRT manage it like rubbish cab, lucky last year lo. When I was in London last time, the cabs was so impressive..but fxxxing expensive, one way to airport cost be 70 pounds, but the drivers very professional.

Cab fare in other countries is way expensive than that of our country, but yet people complain.

Of course can't just compare in term of pricing, a lot of factors to count in. That London cabby who sent me to AP, told me he takes 4 years to get the taxi license, and he say he consider lucky lo, my heart thinking, wtf, we only took the most 6 mths. -
London cab's parts & maintenance r very costly... Furthermore, the cab not easy to drive... Got 2 kakis in it.... Fucking Manual Gear Box... I think it's norm speed even slower than mine (Viano).... Haha.

Just met a kaki at block 89. There are ONLY 9 LONDON CABs on the Singapore's roads now. Rental at $111. Due to expiry March 2013. SMRT "may acquires" New London Cabs...@ $132 (drivers have to support Corporate Jobs). My insider news..... Haha.

SMRT London cab don't know import from where one lei.
London original one where got so lok one.
Is consider London icon, so to obtain the license dame hard.
nothing to do, better don't anyhow take the cab there, pocket will burn big hole.
Anyway, SMRT never in my dictionary before, or else long long time I take up lo.

The new badge of "London Cabs" will be assembled in CHINA. haha. Heard from this current London Cab driver that SMRT is seriously considering getting new London Cabs to replace the existing fleet. With Auto-Gear. -

SMRT's main core is not Taxi business. Not even Secondary. They are 3rd behind the trains & buses.

Taxis & Black Cabs. You’ve got these ‘black cabs’ which are formally known as Hackney Carriage taxis. Black cabs are highly regulated, number of drivers is limited by local authorities- Councils and it takes 3 years on average to prepare for and pass ‘The Knowledge’ – the London topography knowledge exam. Let’s be honest if you haven’t been driving in London for some time you may forget about becoming a ‘black cab’ driver. You don’t need to have 2nd one to start driving. The cab company will provide you with insured vehicle. Obviously they will charge you for it (~£35 a shift) How much money can I make? Considering 50hours+/week you can make anything from £250 - £400 maybe more, and that is after you pay the office you work for, after you pay you car and insurance. You have to remember that you work for yourself; you are not entitled to holiday pay anymore, so to get four weeks of holiday in a year, in eleven months you need to make money others do in twelve. There are specific Bonus Periods though. First it is a summer holidays- many airport runs, depending where you work, can be more tourists and more club, pub work as well. December was also considered as a busy month with lot of work and many tips, but in the past few year we could observe a major decrease in quality and number of runs in this festive period.
