Can a limo driver earn enough without joining an Limo group?

As per subject,Is it a must for a limo driver to join group? No join means lousy earning + long working hrs?

join group dun mean that yr income will be more, joining of group is another alternative of earning and futher more u will get alot of info, example traffic, airport, where png or which road u need to "comb yr hair".
for me i got join group, but seldom take the job unless on the spot. i belive u r driving cdg?their job is enough to cover our rental.

I agree wif u.. joining group also not everyday got durian, take 2 cdg corporate job GDeparture western sector @39pts cover 1 shift rental allready

I believe it is more of a networking, good to join group of the same peer, it gives you a sense of belonging too.

during my MDT course, when i was 1 weeks old into taxi & limo, the course instructor, Mr AXXXX LXXX, did told me of this statement. He said if you are going to sweep the road with the Merc, then please take a sonata sonata which is much cheaper. when asked further which group to join, being diplomatic, he said he joined the biggest group i.e. Comfort Delgro GROUP.

Well, let me share my experiences with fellow limo drivers here...
Some limo drivers have their own means of operation (w/o a grouping) - but personally, I reckoned that you should have at least 1 limo TD group for their group information - traffic, pick & go locations, jobs etc
Join the right limo group is important - pls dun waste time on those group talking cock all the time.

?I use iphone WAZE app to get the traffic jam info.
I dun need TP info because I seldom exceed 100km/h.
PNG info also no need because I dun street pick.
I just need reliable people who can help cover for one another, and its impossible to source that through the walkie.

Grid only give 2000min free for group talk usage, but most always exceed that....

Thanks for all the reply. Yes I with CDG right now driving an white. There are alot of Gdeparture but mostly are at peak hours timing. West to AP $39 worth the time and effort? I count count like Bo hua leh haiz If take normal advance or normal current or sweep floor might as well I go drive an sonata right? Any expert can advise? 

Bro.. If western sector peak hours places like Hillview / Hume Ave, Toh Yi Dr/Toh Tuck or Bt Batok East and Toh Guan, Faber Dr/ Jln Lempeng can consider bcoz slightly more than normal advance (pray hard no bad traffic jam).
Atleast limo hv 2 alternative choices to bid advance for departure and u bidding with less competitor for GDeparture compare to normal advance departure.
And as wat Onewaytransfer said, if u do lots of premier job ur grading will be promoted higher to platinum, and this is where all the good corporate job coming.

After driving Mercedes cab for 2 years plus, any opportunities Comfort can provide us is more or less there liao. Bro SLPUN, corporate jobs is very individual one. Sometime me also kpkb while doing the jobs. Imagine 8am G-Departure at Greenbank Bukit Timah. 31pts, knn, between 7-8am cannot taiko pick up liao, you know morning traffic very bad one, so LL park one corner drink coffee and wait for time. 8am sharp pax come out sharp never mind, but this pax always come out 15min later before you can charge 1 block of waiting time. Than come out Bukit Timah jam, go up PIE pay ERP 2pts than jam until Eunos, reach AP 910am. Worth to serve? But for me, I try to make a point of securing at least 3 corporate jobs to cover my rental, my peers say I siao, but come to think of that, more time for proper meal and proper toilet break, somehow or rather it might make your daily routine more enjoyable. I been OMO since day 1, so find that body system also give way liao. Sorry for this long essay, for reading purposes only, still need individual to judge themselves.

Normally, I don't choose, first appear in my MDT, I will bid, you will be surprised, sometime also never confirm. Just to share, Yesterday did a G-Arrival at 1035am to 11 Gul Circles. WTF TUAS! But this trip is 48pts, arrived AP at 1020am, flight landed at 1033am. Pax came out at 1055am, SURPRISED! So fast, good, chop chop sent him to Gul Circles. Than on board, as usual tcss, me salesman ma. Realized company only provide one way, so he need a cab back to MBS around 5plus at Gul Circles. So my parang come out, 50pts, you agree, I will commit my time. Guess what, with no hesitation, ok, pick me up the next 3 days at Gul Circles plus a Departure. So, sometime with a bit of luck, corporate jobs also not bad.

It's good to join one....
ask Mercabs/Komade for their recommendations.
Get one walky with bluetooth, better than using wired earpiece.

If CDG regularly gives you jobs....
then it is okie....
but... when it fails to give you job for a week... you will be lost.
So,
Walky group jobs come into picture....
if you are busy (with VIP guests), you can just switch off the walky.
In case, if you are at "Mountain Tops" (ie, Tuas, Woodlands, Loyang)... sometimes, these (walky) jobs are helpful.

For Comfort's corporate jobs, really had to study, monitor and do some homework, if you intended to support their jobs. From 25pts(lowest) to 62pts(highest) excluding 90pts for 2 hrs disposal. All are opportunity for connection to whatever jobs you have, either from group or from your personal contact. Daily standard operation from Comfort got some pattern one, study that, and you will find it easier for you to secure jobs from the MDT. Usually try to mix with kakis who are also interested in serving corporate jobs. So there's a room for discussion.
