Hmmm... i don't think there is a best ... if u are interested to get one just go the retailers to test. Different brands comes with different softwares so it about being comfortable with it..
there is no monthly or yearly fee thuo a brief insight for some brands...
Garmin and TomTom are the so call "market leaders" and uses their own software but according to some TomTom updates usually come later than others. Garmin so far nv hear much complains thuo and garmin comes with a wider range some even can watch TV and now another going common but well recieved feature, Live traffic updates
Holux uses papago and galatico softwares.. i am using papago (developed with Singapore land authority) currently , updates are quarterly, searching speed is ok but i dunno abt other brands but the road names on the map of papago usually cant see the "Ave x" or "lor x", and when start up will take quite awhile to locate ur current direction esp if your last location is quite far from ur current.
Galatico software are said to be slower in reaction, last heard from those who upgraded from papago to galatico that there is always this 2 sec lag involved but the software comes with a couple of handy info like parking rates etc
Aigo is the next that caught my attention because now they are using a software developed with yellow pages singapore.. so more details are available for search like block no. unit no. etc but i have yet to test one.
Marbella ... i don't know :p
See your budget and needs ba, best to go hand on on one to see how comfortable u are with their features, speed, and interface
This brand is widely use in Indonesia... I don't know about Singapore... They got an office in Ubi.
