Hi fellow forumers,
The creating of forum page is to share our experiences and this is what Limo Forum is created for.
I understand that there are some non-limo drivers as our supporters, eg, our bro MM069. Hence, I created this thread mainly for him, and interested forumers who like to know what to look out for if he is looking for a potential hirer to share the vehicle & rental liabilities.
As I used to be a regular visitor & forumer in Taxi Forum, I had contributed many posting based on my experiences. I hereby cut and paste the posts which may benefits our fellow forumers in Limo Forum.
Cheers.

Before you drive for him....
Negotiate terms with potential hirer. Day day or night shift. Changing shift hours (4pm to 4am) or (5pm to 5am), or (6pm to 6am)....
If you are driving night, go for 4pm to 4am...
Also, ask, if you are driving 7 days week, do you get any share of the bonus given by the company. If no... then, drive 5-6 days week enough.... . Take one day off.
Wat is the point, sharing half his rental's liabilities and you don't get a share from the drivers' bonus ?
Car washing is normally the duty for the night shift driver. Which meant that you need to wash the cab, inside & outside (by yourself or by @ the kisok). Day shift driver (normally the hirer) will be responsible for the cab's servicing @ office.
Topping up diesel. Normally, done individually. Hirer topped up before his shift ends and you do vise visa.
If you want to ends the driving agreement - do it on a amicable way... give a one week notice.
*** Also check for any dented parts already on the cab with the hirer before you take the keys and become his relief.
On Job Training....
As long as.... you are taking care of the cab... everything is fine..
Most importantly, pay rental promptly after your shift.
Cleaning cab ( duty for night shift driver )
Manually .... with a cloth lah....
at least... the seats can cleaned & the floor mats dusted.
Also...
Cab wash (outside) range from $3-$4.
Some kisok also provide cleaning inside... have to ask them for rates... or the members in the forum.
Or
Just take a cloth to cleans the seats...
and dust the floor mats...
also.. take a clean cloth to clean the inside cab's windows & windscreens (front & back).
It is a routine choir.
Many kisoks provide.....
Car vacuum services (for additional $5)...
You can do it weekly or every 2 weeks......
Needs to negiotate everything including sick leave.
That's why you have to negotiate with the potential hirer.... including your SICK LEAVE (with MC) from Doctor....
Some Hirer ( when I was a hirer ) gives FREE Rental on MC.
Some Hirer takes half your shift rental.
Question - Walking around, checking the cab daily on shift change ?
Don't have to check everyday lah... It is a fucking turn-off if the hirer check you when you returns for the day & vise visa...
Some trust is needed if you want the Driving-Partnership to work.... Be honest to your hirer if you have dented the cab... just repair it when time is convenient.
Alot of give & take... Don't take all the time... partnership don't work that way....

Should I go for Merc or Sonata?
My ultimate aim is to become a limo driver, a pte one if possible.

They need you, bro. More and more white going to surrender in near future, I might be one of them.
Is your choice to choose wisely, which type of cab you intended to start with.
Without client base, limousine cab still can sustain, not like Pte limo. CDG can provide everything you need provided you are not so choosy. And worst come to worst, sweep floor lo.
Only advise for you is, take those about 2-3 years old Mercedes, never go for old Mercedes like mine as a start for newbies.
Euro 3 Mercedes is like a old tank, pick up slow, cruising slow and the engine fucking loud...As a newbies, you might give up driving taxi if you drive this kind of vehicle everyday on the road.
And further more, their age coming up and you might fall into the category of being force to get the new Mercedes which come with a very high rental. Unless you love new car and don't mind paying...hahaha
Check around properly, forum only can have a rough ideas, the best is to talk to someone who are actually driving taxi now and an experience and season drivers....definitely not me...hahaha
Good luck bro...Alamak writing essay...LoL

Bro, how's Maxi driving? Got join their talkie group?
Anyway, many are finding alternative at this point of time before being stuck in the new structure of rental. I can say, smart move...hahaha
For me, also looking around, still got years plus to go, although my current Mercedes is old, but mileage very low (previous hirer is king of limousine queue at AP), so condition wise not that bad. Many of my same model already sent in for re tuning as they had hit 999999, but mine still under 750000.. Hahaha don't think got chance to go C&C.
Have you saw the leaflet printed by CDG? With current situation, normal taxi also kpkb liao, don't talk about Mercedes taxi, most people due to ego and pride, ba si also won't surrender....hahaha

So far so good for driving the big loti van still very happy with it hee hee.
Had just join the group 2 days again but not much job at the moment maybe
the season had not arrival but again those 18 AJ from cdg oso power lar ESP at peak hrs time amount close to flat fee for departure
Maxi has more options of jobs.
Hence should be a better option for OMO TDs.
From my understanding.... many old timers still reluctant to upgrade to the New Viano becos of the rental cost.
Good move SLPUN.
