What's the advantages of joining Association

Heard about National Taxi Association and Comfort Delgro Taxi Association for many years. Never join any of them. Wondering about the benefit of joining them. Heard that if you happen to get into any form of trouble, as an associate members, they could solve the problem for you. Maybe could enlighten me more on this. This morning raining day, do drive safely while plying the road. Good days.

The taxis companies allow any persons currently driving with their taxis - regardless whether you are a normal TD, Limousine TD and /or Maxi TD as members to their respective associations.
For example, if you are driving for CDG, it is CCOA, if you are driving for Transcab, it is CTOA.
The benefits of joining such associations spell clearly in their websites (into details). In the event of any problems you face when you are on the road, you may approach them for advices. You may even get traffic summons over turned.
If you are carrying GRID walky talky, you also get a discount on the monthly subscription and some events' vouchers..
In my opinion, I will probably join one if I'm a current TD. It is just for a minimal fee. You never know when the unfortunate event will happens. The association may just be the right persons you turned to.

Associations are - groups of individuals who voluntarily enter into an agreement to accomplish a purpose. Normally non-profit organization.
Sam, if you got nothing to do... pls go polish your vehicle.

Eat too full, no lah,A group of 7 under our laws, can set up an association, but must register with NTUC which will direct to the court for approval, once you had form an assoication, an affliation to NTUC, you can go on and get members, every members need to pay $8 fees per month and a dollar to charity, be it Medaki, sinda or the chinese chamber of charity. Today, NTA got about 15000 members, x7 = 105000 per mth, jiak buay liao. This fund are then channel to invest in NTUC co operatives, from CDG shares to fairpirces to income shares and so on. All are money making co-operatives which you cannot buy outside because it is not subsribe to any stock market except CDG. And the return is good, making the association able to give out vouchers, discounts and events for their members.
If you are a chairman, you do not hv to work, you are pay as what you get as a Pte limo per month, same may go to the top 3, but you are under strict audit, every cents is accountable for, if you become a Limo chairman, you can decide what to do with the money gain from investment. Now you understand where cdg, fairprice and income proift money goes to..their shareholders are mostly unions and association and of course big brother, NTUC.

I rather polish my gun than polish my car. But I seriously think we are in need of a union but I won't be so free and I doubt it will happen during our time, maybe my grandchildren's time?
Setting up a limo forum already kena tekan, will be worse if set up limo association.... Hahaha...

Thanks for all the valuable information. Maybe is time to join Comfort Association. Anyway, my group was fall under the association category, wonder it work the same like what bowah explained. But my member fee only $5 per months.

No perk spell out by our chairman, but they address our group as Association. -

The group I'm talking about is limousine group, not Comfort, after 7 years with them, from normal to limousine driving, still yet to join their Association. -

I drove my merc for about a year before deciding to join U2.
Then I jio some of my kakis to follow too
I'm not sure about other groups, but I totally agree with you that it is a very organize group.
Most jobs got no levy and it serve many regular paxs.
Most importantly, we won't get into LTA books with the limo jobs.

Yes, U2 initial was relatively quiet... until "Mr B" went over.... (He has done a great job since).
From my understanding (correct me if I am wrong)...
U2 & Royal branched out from Ace....
One of K member went over to U2 and became their 一哥(cantonese)
And that person is Mr B... ** (just in short lingo term for the limo groups)
