Limo/Maxi, Combi Driver With Tourist Guide License

  Any member holding tourist guide licence?

  I see its more advantage by holding one..  any comments?

  Its good to those new Limo/Maxi Cab drivers to earn extra $$$$

  Yes, I do agree it's an added advantage of holding a tourist guide licence.

  BTW, if a pte limo driver hold a tourist guide licence, is it feasible to operate as a OMO Tour Singapore Pte Ltd?

  You really caught me here (this area of discussion)... 

  From my understanding, not many limousine cabbies hold the tourist-guide licence.

  It is very costly if you are doing it (course) at your own expenses.

  Taxis companies (eg CDG) did sponsored their limousine / maxi cab drivers to the course a few years back.  But I don't know if they still do sponsor the drivers any more... this you need to check it out with the Premier department (3rd level).

  Go apply for a tourist guide cert, I think at STB, will cost you about 2.5 to3 k

  However, gahmen got subsidy from WDA. www.wda.gov.sg

  Look it up.

  Pros: 

  1)can get a better rate

  2)more knowledgeable of Dingapore

  3)can get special rates for attractions, u sell pax at normal rate, the rest you dong!

  Downs:

  1) you need to accompany pax to the attractions, so where u want to park???

  2) if you take travel agent job, most likely, they don't pay you by disposal, they pay you with a package rate.. Not very attractive

  3) no cash, mostly if do travel agent, must be on credit terms, you can tahan?

  Only on occasions,

  Hotel may request for a limousine driver whom have a tour guide licence....  that occasion is as good as....

  Why not adding photographing into your service. (of course we won't get LTA kinda rate) Driver best is still be a driver, we can have certain value added service, but that should not have conflict with the core operation. Eg. Who is going to park your car
