Fucking expensive.....
If you think you got 10 yrs life left and got $250K in bank, then dun bother buying. Sit back and relax. Drive to pass time can lar.
Pay $250K for a new limousine, and then spend 10 years to earn back the money ? For fark ?
Well,
paying anything above $150,000 need alot of consideration.
@ this current moment, you need to pay that amount for a Viano due to the crazy surged in the COE premium for category C.
As commercial vehicle doesn't carry any scrap value after 10 years of usage, very likely, it could be extended for another 10yrs with a new prevailing COE.
A recent report from LTA shows that out of all the older cars with extended COE, 80% belongs to commercial vehicles. With the current surged in the prevailing COE, it meant getting another 10yrs for their vehicles become unattractive anymore. Who will want to pay additional $50k to an old commercial vehicle ?
Looks at all the old MB140 models....(there are many of these commercial vehicles on the road)... with the COE surging higher, they are likely to get squeezed.
Any commercial vehicles purchased from 2012 to 2015 will need to pay a higher amount of prevailing COE premium to extent for another 10yrs.

Who will think he only have 10 yrs left to live?
Its something for people to gauge themselves. Do they think they can chiong 10 more years ? If not, its time to think how the monies can be invested to get some returns. A new combi may not be the best option.
Normally, after 4-5 yrs is the good time to sell before the mechanical problems comes in altogether.
Got a kaki at Blk 89, he is driving a...
old Audi A4 as Pte Limo.... (really ah)... Audi drink petrol like water.....
There must be BMW Pte Limo... but not many....
Expensive cars even for a 3 series.
The norm should be a 5 series = e Class.
Mercedes-Benz E Class vs BMW 5 Series
Which will you choose ?
i don't know abt Merc but BMW 5 series is also a very heavy drinker and a few of my friends gave up on BMW after problems keep arising after4-5 years driving, considering they are used on a Private usage manner, i cant image using it as limo and frequently otr.

Consumers moving over to BMWs becos of the...
Mercedes cabs.... . Even Private Limos are getting white Mercedes-Benz e class as their business vehicles.
Hence, BMWs and Audi became their alternative choice for private owners.
It is always understood that BMW's maintenance is more expensive than other continental brands.

yeah, always hear the bill are always in thousands... hence i wonder abt the viability for it as limo... MBS for one uses a large fleet of BMWs as their limo.
Personally i use reverse physco.. the fact that merc are used largely by limo companies, pte limos and even taxis already proved it's reliability and cost efficiency... Of course.. i maybe dead wrong thuo haha

Some Private Limousines companies uses BMWs. probably the 5 and 7 series. they are the top few in the industry with lots of contracts in hand (including the govt sector). Their vehicles are like totally financed.
MBS has the muscles to acquire a fleet (of BMWs)... Just like RWS getting a fleet of Toyota Alphards. There are also Pte Limos providing them vehicles on contract basis.
Mercedes-Benz on the other hand, have been proven to be a reliable brand world-wide, and also cheaper in maintaining the vehicles. that's why, it is widely used.

Not all Vito has auto doors...
Also, some are fixed with auto doors themselves (hence may not be covered with warranty by their respective agents).
Mercedes Viano & new Toyota highroof hiace (only left side) have auto sliding doors.

Yes.....
Only limited choices... for Commercial vehicles.
When COE is doing at this current prices....
It is very difficult to commit....
and after committing... you must have the business to substain your daily operation cost.
Mercedes Vito or Viano is the better choice.....
The brand name sell by itself.
