Fullerton case in the news again
http://www.straitstimes.com/BreakingNews/Singapore/Story/STIStory_770238.html
A former employee of a luxury hotel was fined on Friday and ordered to pay a penalty for taking bribes in the form of loans from a taxi driver. In return, he assigned hotel guests to the driver's taxi.
Narayanasamy P. Annamalai, 46, a former bell captain with The Fullerton Hotel Singapore, was fined $20,000. He was also ordered to pay a penalty of $13,100, this being the amount he took in the 11 charges of corruption. He had pleaded guilty to getting loans of between $300 and $2,000 from cabby Yip Kiam Bin in 2006 and 2008.
As he did not pay the fine and penalty, he will serve a 33-week jail term in default.
Another two former bell captains of the hotel were dealt with in August 2011.

Yes... I heard the authority are coming hard on them.... in coming months... from sources - cannot say lah...
Your dream may come true... TS....
Marriott concierge told me their management decided not to use DH services anymore because it is not fair for many cabbies.
There is nothing wrong as long as the hotel management offers the transport services and are prepared to issue invoices using the hotel name. If pax complain, hotel management must be prepared to step in and defend the cabby. Guest pays hotel, cabby claims from concierge. CPIB and LTA will not bother cabbies anymore.
If this problem is not fixed, there will always be angry passengers and cabbies complaining to lta and cpib.

Taxi Driver Vocational Licence is different....
If you are driving PH, PZ, PA and or PC plates vehicles, then you need to have a PHVL = Private Bus Vocational Licence. (normally registered as Excursion Bus on the side of the passenger's or driver's door).
and or...
Just like Sam.Seah & Me....
When you registering for your TDVL @ LTA Sin Ming,
You can opt for PHVL as well....(no need to pay another $40 in future if you decided to take this VL course).
Sorry f1taxidriver... we hijacked your topic dicussion.... I will open a thread on this discussion soon. thanks.

To penetrate concierge, not so easy, and most of them easy way out, bellboy lo...... Me all this while don't except bellboy business.....I always stress on members, be careful, protect yourself...... Nowsday 3 stars hotel within CBD area also MERC targets, but ho, worth it or not, is up to individual, control measure very difficult to implement, to safe guard yourself just have to put more effort in selling and make sure hotel willing to commit to you.....
The concierge were paid a salary to do their job which includes booking cabs for hotel guests. If the hotel staff expect benefits in terms of cash or free transport home or annual dinners, then sooner or later CPIB will be after the money trail. Angry hungry cabbies = crazy cabbies
If the hotel collects payment from guests directly, then no problem. GST goes to PAP no problem. GST going elsewhere is asking for trouble here.

This is a Grey Area of discussion....
Normally, it is the transportation guys (in this incident, the TD) who approaches the Hotel's (front line) staffs.
U tell me....
Who can resist .....
