Well,
operating a New subforum in Sgforums definitely gives us (Sam, F1taxidriver & me) some pressure.
Limo Forum is like a baby to us,
we want to see it grow,
we want to see forumers come in and share,
we want to see that we produce quality discussions.

We want to share what we know about a lesser known trade. We also aim to change the culture of locals, let the experience a limo culture like the Angmo country. Would you want to arrive to your prom, d & d in a limo? Or just in a normal taxi? There are many ways to impress your friends and associates, consider a limo!

Do the right thing . Do an elaborate website , standby a pool of drivers ( your very own kakis) .
I can even be a part shareholder in this venture. And from the hours of 4 pm to 10 pm , i can even be your controller , reservations officer all thrown into one.
JDI and me discussed before but never took off coz of some stupid limo rules.
Now thats how u reach out to consumers :D

We won't know who will visit this forum, present or future. As long their is a direction, we will get there somehow, it is only the matter of time. I am glad to see topic on cultivation of Positivity., such topic will somehow generate positive energy and leading me to ply positively. There are too much talk, discussion on negative issue. Although it create a sense of "companionship", but it generate hatred, sickness over our customer as well. It consistently affect our mood when such incident happen again.

BCL, how you know I do not have an elaborate website? How you know I do not have a pool of drivers? I am not the type to hao Lian or set up forum to advertise my number or recruit new members. Just to share with you, do you know that I can get a Maxi/high roof/Chrysler/Alphard in 5-15mins at most 25 mins? I never say does not mean I can't do. I am just try to share that there are many possibilities for the limo drivers, their mindset is just to fetch tourists and business visitors, have they thought of proms, d & d and etc? No problem about digging info, as I mentioned, even if they start a new business t take our business, you think we will run road? Our business will still be there. Just take hotel for example, after MBS and RWS open, the other hotel in Singapore got run road? Must have an open mind, competition is always there and it will make us strive to do better... To add, I got money to burn, I do not need any shareholder. Thanks for the offer though...

As of sharing of information, it is the main factor to attract viewer/reader and participant in the forum. Keeping all information and leaving only TCSS within friends in the forum, will not help the forum to grow. This might as well setting a Private Forum and conversation only done among Friends. There are always two side to any point of view, some see information leaking will harm, but i see it as Help. Information given are usually partial, it is not complete. For eg, Some might post 1) their one trip collection is up to $100, easy money. But they didn't tell you how long they got to wait for such "durian" 2) some post it as a pleasure to do disposal job, sleeping job. But they didn't tell you about the boredom during the process. 3) some can tell you they make $10,000 per month, but did they tell you the hardship they been thru? All these information, when disagree, can always reflect the other side of the story in our posting, but not discourage or even forbidden to reveal.

Wa BCL thanks for cuming. Are u suggesting we start something like Limo View ? And u volunteer to be octopus (controller) ? Wait next door throw parang how ?
But seriously we needed an association of pte combis to come together to eradicate this $30 or $35 transfers. We need a body of members who will quote nothing less than CDG prices. 13-seater hiroof rates should be 1.5 - 2 times maxicab fare.
There are too many limo drivers, many limo websites, but no standardisation of rates. Undercutting the market to earn a living is not the right way.

I would like to reiterate, Our intention was never to promote our own services. F1taxidriver has his own website but he has never openly publicize his website. JDIL is self sufficient As for me, I am also self sufficient with my own clientele and also I have a website, I venture with many marketing platforms and I do not need any jobs from DHs. To open a forum to get business? Quite impossible, who would come into the forum and take down telephone numbers for remembering so that they can call for a limousine? Our nature of business is that we will not know what will happen tomorrow. Example, yesterday night, I do not have any jobs for today but at the end of today, I might have 4 jobs or 5 jobs. Somewhat similar to Taxi, when the pax need us, then they will call us. They don't go into forums t source for limo driver or limo. This is something about our trade that I know, I believe others know too. Get business from forums? Wait long long!

I agree 4 hands with F1, currently, there are people who like to slash rates, I don't know why.
There are already a group of FT doing this trade, the can buy 3 or 4 vehicles and the slash like nobod business, the very hungry but they can't last long.
Imagine, they put their rates at $30,35, they have good business, a lot of consumer want them cause they are cheap.
But, most of the time, the are too busy that they cannot wash their car, they are frequently late and so many other factors.
Also, they have so much business that they want to throw out, they call Star, call CityMaxi or call whichever group, 30cents,35 cents, ask them go fly kite, their pax waiting half an hour for them lor... See shiok or not?

Allow us to have our own vision and decide what is the best for this newly founded Limo subforum.
Only time will tell.
The "next door" subforum have been around for more than 8-9 years. We are only around for less than 2 weeks... what can you expect to see in such short time ?
Every subforums or even the main Sgforums will have it's agenda in place. What to do 1st, followed by 2nd & third... & etc.
Tries after tries, only deemed unsuccessful will then be discarded. Are we in the rush to built something in a limited time space ? No ! We have at least 8-9 years to do that
.... even "next door" don't seems "successful" after such a long period.

Our government use gebiz to award cleaning or HDB construction projects. It was never stated that cleaners should be paid a minimum of $1500 a month. For HDB, it was never their intention to let the contractors profit too much. I heard those people installing electrical casings for HDB dun make any profit at all...
So is market force about opening the doors to massive numbers of foreigners and squeezing our incomes ? Was market forces at work when the rates of our water, electricity and gas were determined ? Why dun they let foreigners come in and pipe cheap water, electricity and gas to us ?

Apparently, you know well the format of obtaining government business, but yet to enlighten in benefiting from it.Those can benefit from it will usually stay in silent, because there is cruetly, heartless and somehow illegal.
We do not like competition, esp. from foreigner, cheaper foreigner. Since it is an already an Open Door policy, we can only learn to benefit from it. Imagine we have a group outing, family outing...... go and enjoy those $30 per trip, it even cheaper then Taxi or even Bus and MRT.

Even coffee shop uncles know how to raise coffee prices. But some limo uncles prefer to cut prices.
I cut prices before. I can irritate many many limo uncles by giving $35 airport transfers. Lets see who die first. But I stopped it for goodness sake.

薄利多销 is a common rule in Business.
But after 薄利, there must be rooms for 多销
To compete in advertisement, people can even publish at $20 rate, there are ways to recope the difference, it's only who can come out a more rational excuse.
Such tactic are common in Singapore, guess many of us here are experiencing it.
To deal with it, we got to have Principle and consistence on it, follow by.........

Assuming$3.00 goes to your parking
ERP at Fort Rd at 800am at $6.00
ERP at SUntec at $3.75
Diesel from tow (empty)n to go up to airport and airport back to town $8
Total running cost is $21, how about your road tax, insurance, servicing, depreciation and what about your salary?
If we look at it, do $35 is making a loss and doing for free.... Whahahahaha

Its not about startin something like limo view, you have an issue with the low rates , then something has to be done in relation to the source.

Other than getting a bunch of newbies in to come in and add on to the very crowded market , policies has not been changed 1 bit.
There is a difference between being idealistic and practical.
But JDI bro , it seems your owner isnt very receptive to criticisms coz the moment someone speaks out , he will bring out his credentials and capabilities haha.

The rate can be :
Airport Tranfer - $35
To CBD surcharge - $5
(even to housing can also $5)
Fuel surcharge - $5
Luggage handling fees - $5
Total $50 + 7% GST ($3.50) = $53.50 excluding ERP
There are more reason to add in, it up to the Driver's mercy when pax on board.
Nothing wrong for Pte Limo

For Taxi, the fares is regulated, but also can give excuses to collect more before confirmation of job, advertisement had gone its job when people called.
In the end, is it really "Cheap"?
