  i dont understand why the national library has to arrange the fictions according to genre.

  why cant they arranged it alphabetically like the rest of the libraries?

  I recommend you to go to Chua Chu Kang Library where you are allowed to use your handphone in the talkzone.

  arrangement by genre make no sense.

  many authors write different genres.  always have to go through the shelves 3 or 4 times.

  i even find the same book under different classifications.

  Must be scholars at work. Librarians for the national library board are civil servants too.

  Check the author name and ask for help.

  thats if you are looking for just one specific author.

  i normally go through the shelves looking for books.  but with their unique arrangement i have to do it many times. 

  a-z for thrillers

  a-z for romance

  a-z for award winners.....

  in community libraries i only go through a-z once.

  I am not in particular for any specific author.

  I love to read non fiction family stories. Authors must be a guy. That is a must.
