This was my sleeper compartment... It would take me about 13hours(overnight) to get from Paris Gare I'Est to Berlin Hauptbahnhof(Central Train Station)...
I had the topmost bunk... The compartment had 6 beds.
My flimsy bed...
It was an uneventful night and I managed to sleep throughout, despite the bed rocking whenever there was a change of tracks...

Yup. It's a gift to the Thai Railways. Similar to their gift to the Indonesian Railways, but theirs were EMUs. This picture was taken just 1 week before the derailment near Hat Yai,with the same rake. The coaches are attached on a train between Bangkok and Hat Yai. During a festive season (I forgot which one), there will be a train with the full rake of the JR Blue Train, but hauled with an SRT locomotive, plying the route of Bangkok - Chiang Mai.

Dresden Neustadt Bahnhof...
Dresden Hauptbahnhof.
EC 173, the train that I was on, actually started in Hamburg, passed through Berlin, then Dresden, crossing over into the Czech Republic, stopping in its capital Prague(using Praha Holesovice instead of Praha hl.n) and ending in Vienna Sudbahnhof(South Train Station).
Note that the EC 173 train has cars from the Austrian Railway operator OBB. Note that Gleis 3(Platform 3) of Dresden Hauptbahnhof only serves 3 trains per day!
This is so because Gleis 3(and one other platform) are through lines where trains carry on and go into the Czech Republic. All other lines(platforms) terminate at Dresden Hauptbahnhof. So that also means that there are only 3 border crossings for trains into Czech Republic per day.
Dresden has one of the longest trams in the world and they are
proud of it...

I'm surprised they use track-level platforms there. Are the step below the door of the coaches retractable?
Trams in Vienna.
Amazing that even the two carriage trams have a small 1st class cabin while the rest is 2nd class.
Sudbahnhof (S) means the tram terminates at the Vienna South Train Station on the S-Bahn platform.

The step below the coaches are retractable, like most if not all of the InterCity and EuroCity trains operated by the Austrian Federal Railways, Österreichische Bundesbahnen(ÖBB).
Not sure for the Regional trains though, though I suspect the newer ones are equiped with retractable steps that fold inwards into the train cabin or swing inwards depending on the door arrangement.
And in Wien Westbahnhof, the photos are a bit deceptive. The platforms are not track-level, just a bit above the track level. This was so because at the time Wien Westbahnhof was built, it was very very long ago.
But Wien Westbahnhof will not exist in its present form for much longer though... Plans are underway to demolish parts of its infrastructure(together with the Sudbahnhof) to make way for a new and main Central Train Station in Vienna termed the Wein Hauptbahnhof.
That should be ready in a few years time.

My spanking and sparkling clean Railjet train to Wien(Vienna) pops into Zurich Hauptbahnhof... I've upgraded today's journey to Premium Class, a class above First on the Railjet... My exclusive cabin is located on the front of the train(see picture).
It's an 8 hour ride to Vienna... Why did you think I upgraded from First Class to Premium Class?
This was actually my seat... Or rather, my own private cabin...
But I kindly swapped it with three other passengers in Premium Class which were seated in two other cabins separated... See I so nice right?
I had a private screen which showed me my train's movement throughout the journey.
I even ate on the train... Splurged
Want to see those pictures? Or not? I'll post the great looking(and tasting) food if people want the pictures.
And yes, the hi-speed train(Railjet) really took 8 hours, with parts from Salzburg to Wien going at 200kmph...
Pulling into Vienna(Wien Westbahnhof), I decided to take some parting shots of my cabin, my seat and the train itself...
First, not today...
That is all for my train and the 8 hour ride!!!

I had to go to Graz, south of Vienna on this day, so I took the EuroCity train from Wien Meidling Bahnhof. To get to Wien Meidling from Wien Westbahnhof, I had to take the U-bahn to Wien Meidling.
It was OEC653.
Took a sightseeing journey through Graz for a few hours, and then I had to return to Vienna for the night, this time on an InterCity train...
IC752 it was...
