Nice shots. Just a suggestion - have a play around with the curves to bring up the shadows on the first shot.

Was told in other forum that theres too much 'dark areas' on the right hand side too.....

Yup, the shrubbery is all in shadow and it makes the photo look like it's been cut off. Lightening the plants and bringing out some detail should fix that.
