I didn't get to La Bocca del Verita, but the twelfth photo in my first post was taken at Piazza del Popolo.

That shot was taken standing in front of the obelisk in the centre of the Piazza.
If you do go again, I'd recommend staying at the Delia B&B. It's 500 metres from Roma Termini, the rooms are spacious and they people running the place are lovely.

Yup, it was a Sigma 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6 OS. It's a pretty good walkaround lens, but I've since replaced it with a Canon 70-200 f/2.8 L IS and I'm awaiting delivery of a 24-70 f/2.8 L.
IIRC the shot was taken from about 2 - 3 metres away.
Nice photos you have of Rome compared to what I took when I was there haha! I have cannot make it photography skills.
The trade-off was a disgruntled wife because I took my time taking those shots.
wow this is nice! have you been touring europe recently? saw a venice thread the other time?

Yup, spent five weeks in July/August covering Paris, London, Venice, Rome (with a day trip to Capri thrown in), New York, San Francisco, Hong Kong and Singapore before returning to Melbourne. The Paris, London and Capri photos are on this forum as well.
I'm still working on the US and Asia photos, and I'll post them soon.
