Most probably that your parents know that you are not interested in studies at the moment and thus advise you to quit and rest first before pursuing ba... else waste money and time.

u see... pika, dat's wad i was trying to say... when i quit ITE aft 6 mths n getting pretty gd grades, my mom also cannot do anything even after discussing with her. cos she know i not at the very least interested in studying.... i even once had a fren who wld scold me upside-down like how ah nat wld do to u, but she know dat since my mom cant conevince me, wad position is she to convince me.... so... this is me now... altho i abit regret, but 80% of the time, i dun regret....
dun get me wrong abt encouraging pika to quit poly, but if i ask u to buy a simple sweet dat u dun like, wld u still buy it?
nian qing ren shen zai yi dian ku dou chi bu liao..
how to survive in this god forsaken world
i quit my poly in my 2nd year and nv regretted at e point of time, still enjoying online games, working parttime till i got in NS. But during my NS period, i realised it was a stupid mistake to quit e diploma.
those questions came in.. what will be e salary i will be getting if i'm only wif olvls.. what kind of life it will be if i carried on e way i am..
thus immediately aft NS. i am back being a student in poly.. still studying rite now though.. of coz e life is back to boring again... i am not regretting.. ^^"
Its your decision but as far as i'm concern its a pretty bad decision.
I've got more then a few friends, who did the same as you..
Went NS first.
One of which, is working as a mobile phone salesman. Living pretty well, except he've got totally no room for recreational things, esp when it costs.
Another one, he got so used to life working odd jobs and quitting whenever he wants that, he never stayed in one job for long. Living off his brother now.
My best friend, the worst 1 is lagi worst. He bang his gf until shot gun. Imagine his predicament now.

Your decision is totally different.
Lets be very very frank, what's coming for ladies and guys are totally different in the future.
Aiyo, quit poly can always go back again. Its not like any poly will reject you. There's tons of polys and private and public universities waiting for you to sign up again.
Just treat it like you are taking a break from studying.

i dun see the difference since he can still go back n take pte courses. if there's no pte sch at all in sg, den i got ntng to say. but there's plenty of pte sch... dun like to study here, he can always save up n travel to US, UK, Oz or other places to study again.
why pika.. oh why....
rome wasnt build in a day......
i always advice ppl to learn from their mistake.... but seeing u falling into one such as this.. is just too painful to watch..
he seems proud that he has quitted school..

yup... and he (and maybe you too) should have stayed in school.. and learnt that there is no such word as "quitted"

yup and I did not quit school
And I know he has turned to doing insurance and I would not be suprised if he end up having a better career than you
insurance?
they need a proper qualification for that.. because these days, insurance is more than just flogging basic accident insurance, it's about financial management...
and that, goes back to this word "education" again..
no one starts from the top... unless you're Lau Lee's son... and the day is over where an insurance guy without the proper understanding of financial instruments can run a successful business...
base on my last converstaion with him....
am sure it isnt insurance. dunwan talk behine his back. Let just say it is something that was once super hot till, it was label pxxxi
Insurance companies will send their agents for the proper courses to get the necessary qualification for them to become insurance agents.
Go do research.
Some insurance agents only have O level and they are doing better than you degree holders.
So don't think you got that piece of paper than you can have dog eyes to look down on people.

nope.. i have friends who are in insurance, who work like mad, one of whom earns 5 figure monthly salaries.. and he told me what i've just told you.. the rest, with all the qualifications under their belts, working like mad, most have quit doing insurance and have fallen back on their qualifications and experience, and found other jobs..
besides, you just said so again.. and i quote: "send their agents for proper courses..."
that's part of education again.. part of schooling...
so.. thing is, i'm willing to bet all of these companies are not going to just spend money to educate you... and they'll probably bond you to hell and back..
i do not begrudge anyone's wages if they work hard at it.. what i'm saying is that you advise others to quit school, you're just sticking one in them..
but frankly, if they are stupid enough to listen to you and believe that quitting school is a good idea, they fricken deserve it..

Than you should go and do research on people who have quitted school and become successful in their lifes than you will know who is the stupid one that look down on people with no qualification
i have.. please see what i have written...
there are many out there who have quit.. because they had something in them..
quitting school when you have NOTHING backing you up is a sure way of throwing away your future..
i have to ask you.. if you are so pro-quitting of school, why didn't you?
because by the time I want to quit school, I am left with just 1 more year to complete the course and I did not want to go ns so soon.
So I stay on in school for another 1 year to get that piece of paper.
pardon me.. your slip is showing..
no point saying anything else since the deed is done. Though I second the violence to befall if we meet.
anyway think about what you want to do. sales is still possible of course and possibly good money. But note it's onyl some who make it, not most.
Insurance is frankly not likely nowadays O lvls may not even let you become an agent. But other things like housing agents or products are still ok.
