As above...
What will happen if I quited school?
I just really... really... really.... ... ... don't feel like studying...
Especially when i got into a course I never like...
Really really feel like giving up... And just go NS first then think about my studies later...
Haiz...
I am really really sad... I also dunno why I become like this...
I know I will make a whole big lot of people dissappointed... For people around always have high hopes on me...
Which is why i decided to join you guys that day... to give myself a break... but it doesn't seems to help...
dont join ns w/o any qualifications.. u will end up in shit vocations
Too late liaw man..
u finish what u started boy! U be better off.
Always got course, or subjects that we hate.. but since when life so song for you to choose what u want n dun want. If like that i wouldve just studied maths.. only. LOL! But that wont give me my Electrotechnology paper.
then pika's ass will be pain from my smacking
Dun end up like me...
It keeps getting better...
if you quit school, it's going to get harder...
that simple...
short pain better than long pain... stay with it...
TS how old are you now?
what is your passion. if you have no interest in academia, why not pursue your passion, whichever that may be?
don't be stupid ! Don't quit school ! Nobody ever like studying. They just grind their teeth and bear it through. R u damn rich and have capital to star business ? if u r, then u can really consider quiting school. Otherwise don't even think about it.
Have u ever thought wat job u r gonna hold if u have poor qualification and wat job u r gonna hold when u got better one ? I am not gonna say better qualifications give better pay directly but there is a direct relationship here. The difference for a lowly educated person can be 1-2 K a month while a higher educated person is 3-5k a month. The difference is great.
BTW wat r u studying anyway :p
Pika, everything is about paper qualifications in sg.
so if you quit studying, how are you going to survive in singapore? or may be u have lots of $ to go set up business then u can go consider doing so.
Suck it up and go through school.
As tough as it may be, working life will be much, much worse.
Working life without a diploma? That will be even worse than the 'much, much worse' that I just said.
don't you dare!
Dun end up like me.
pika... we tell u tis not because we do not understand your pedicament... we tell u tis because we r more experienced in tis world... if schooling is useless, nobody study.
Quit school can...... Then u go to take class 5 and work like a coolie lor, also earn 5k per month, in a hard way!!!
as a 过人 i hope u wont do it.
life where got everything is u like one?
i think u oso mature enough to know that lo.
so pls pls finish these 3 years first.

x2.
Pika, I hope you can see that we are not out to nag at you. What we are saying is that while we understand your situation, many of us have gone through pretty much what you are going through right now.
What I can say is that tough as your studies may be, quitting poly will most likely make things even worse. A lot of doors are going to be closed to you, and the remaining open doors aren't all that great.
Try throwing a rubber ball into the crowd at Orchard Road. There's a 50% chance that it will hit someone with a diploma/degree. There's another 50% chance that it will hit another diploma/degree holder on the rebound.
Then the dude who picks up the ball will have a 50% chance of being another diploma/degree holder. Then when he angrily throws it back to you and misses, there's another 50% chance that it will hit yet another diploma/degree holder.
I was exaggerating in the last two paragraphs.... but not by very much, either.

double that, one more set from this robot.
no.. not 50%.. i think is 90 ._.
wa fudgester u sound like my teacher sia ! = >
wait i call u n scold u if u quit
i thought u r a person that dun do things halfway one
to survive in the working world at least u need a dip
It would not be good to carry on what you dont like.
BUT
How can you say "And just go NS first then think about my studies later..."
If that's the case, I think you're better off studying...

I give you a suggestion.
1. Complete it.
2. Quit. go for army. after army go for private school.
funny thing is. all output is the same = degree
diploma. 3 years in poly
private diploma 8 months.(mdis) 14 months (SIM)
after army.
go for it. spend 4 years in MDIS or even SIM. degree.
for mdis. i struture it for you
10 weeks lesson. and there will be break in between for 2 weeks.
4 days u need to go school a week. everyday 3 hours.
i think is better ya?
if you choose 2. i gladly join you =)
lol
you must be happy. main point!
no money? DUHH there is always a bank! =)
yes its worth it!
I think you should quit if you really dont like what you are doing and go into NS first.
Doesnt matter what vocation you get into because it will be 2 years that you cant give away.
Finish it then study what you wish to do. You would definitely have the advantage because you wont lose touch with the industry since you start work straight away. And by then the economy should be on the way up.
Dont waste your time doing what you dont like. Unless you can bite the bullet and put what you study into practice. If not, you will just waste your youth.
Is money a problem for you?
There's this option for you. carry on with the poly. retake your 'o' level so that you can and must acheive a better grade to go to the course of your choice. of course you will "waste" a year in poly. but then, this is better than quitting.
Nevertheless, engineering is a good subject. learn to love it. It is one subject that will never go obselete. and engineering is a good and honurable occupation too. don't belittle it.
Finally, everything depends on you and your attitude
If it is engineering that you are taking, pls think through carefully. It is not something that you can smoke through.
You have to know what you want first. Then you can decide.
Before u do something stupid, find out wat job can u get after the study (or not studying), how much can u get, easy to find jobs etc or not. Compare the various options. Think 40 years, not 4 years ahead.
