Singaporeans staying in JB

My dad recently bought a HDB 5 room flat BTO in Yishun, but it will only be ready 2014 ;( so currently as of now we are renting a 4 room flat for $2300 / month. Its been 1.5 years in this rental flat and it costs a fortune. You can work out the math if you want. So we were thinking of renting a condo unit in JB is is so much cheaper, bigger, better. The problem is im afraid i cannot adapt to it, is the lifestyle ok? Does it jam always, what time does it jam? Alot of qns basically, Care to share some experiences????? Pls help!

huh? why u no not current flat? or where's your flat before BTO?

it would be a hassle for you to drive into and out of Singapore everyday.

We sold our resale 4 room flat too early I guess. But jb is safe???

Jb is safe, generally. The last major crime was probably 10 years ago. Live in areas where there are fit security guards.

The condo in malaysia is called Orchid view luxury condominium and its just 5 mins walk to checkpoint. We're renting it at RM 2800.

Ok lah. Not bad. But recently, we purchased a new condo called Tropez residences, tropicana, danga bay worth RM 800k+. Its a beachfront condo overseeing sg. It will only be ready in 2014.
