Rapper Busta Rhymes was headed to court yesterday (March 26th) to accept a plea deal for two assault charges that would have allowed him to avoid jail time. Instead, the rapper was surprised to learn that Judge Tanya Kennedy had taken the deal off the table and replaced it with one that would call for the rapper to serve one year in jail concurrently for both charges.
Allhiphop.com reports that Judge Kennedy's decision was based on the fact that the rapper was arrested again on February 20th for driving with a suspended license.
Rhymes rejected Kennedy's new deal and a trial date was set for May 8th.
The rapper's two assault charges stem from two separate incidents. The first occurred last August when the rapper allegedly assaulted a fan who spit on his Maybach. The other charge stems from an incident in December in which Rhymes allegedly beat up a former driver, Edward Hatchett, who was meeting with him over outstanding back pay.
Don't know whether is he going to jail or not..
