Man City seal £15m deal to land Everton midfielder Rodwell
Target: Jack Rodwell is wanted by Manchester City
Manchester City are signing Everton midfielder Jack Rodwell for £15million.
The 21-year-old has impressed since breaking into the Toffees team and Roberto Mancini believes he is worth a gamble.
An Everton statement read: 'Everton have agreed an undisclosed fee with Manchester City for the transfer of Jack Rodwell.
'The midfielder is set to undergo a medical with the Premier League champions on Sunday.'
Rodwell impressed the Italian manager when City lost 2-0 at home to Everton in March 2010, and again as he shackled David Silva for much of the his side's visit to the Ethiad last season.
The Barclays Premier League champions have moved quickly, with both Chelsea and Manchester United also interested.
Rodwell will join a busy midfield which already boasts Gareth Barry, Nigel de Jong and star man Yaya Toure.
City want to acquire young British talent in order to fit in with Premier League regulations about homegrown players.
Mancini is interested in Swansea winger Scott Sinclair for the same reasons.
