All-white for a first try: American designers Under Armour have taken over from Puma in designing the Tottenham kits
With the appointment of Andre Villas-Boas and the signings of Gylfi Sigurdsson and Jan Vertonghen, Tottenham may just be one step closer to bringing back the title winning days of the 1960s.
But it’s the 1980s that seem to be in the minds of the north London club judging by their new home strip - which as seen below is worn by the entire first team.
New designers, Under Armour have unveiled the new home kit for the 2012/13 season - which is modelled mainly by Michael Dawson, Scott Parker and Kye Walker - featuring grey trim that closely matches the strips worn in a decade where the club won two FA Cups and the UEFA Cup.
White shorts also feature on the home kit, which apart from 2007/08, appear on the domestic home strip for the first time since 1987.
Gareth Bale, Walker and Dawson were on hand to reveal the club’s more traditional navy blue away number but there is no sign of want-away midfielder Luka Modric or Rafael van der Vaart on the main promotion of the the strips.
The Croatian international, who is valued at £35million, is the subject of interest from Chelsea and Real Madrid with Villas-Boas confirming this week he would sell the 26-year-old providing the asking price is met.
