Exit ahead? Clint Dempsey could leave Fulham
The race to sign Clint Dempsey this summer is hotting up as Arsenal prepare to make the first move for the Fulham forward.
Liverpool are believed to be the favourites to sign the USA international, who is heading for the Craven Cottage exit door as he stalls over accepting the offer of a new three-year contract.
The 29-year-old, who scored his 23rd goal of the season in Sunday's 2-1 Barclays Premier League win over Sunderland, has just one year remaining on his current deal and Fulham could be forced to cash-in this summer - or lose him on a free.
Dempsey's reluctance to put pen to paper has alerted Gunners boss Arsene Wenger, who is looking to bolster his side this summer following the recent addition of Lukas Podolski.
Fulham boss Martin Jol remains tight-lipped over the possibility over losing the free-scoring American's services, however.
He said, when asked if players would be leaving this summer, after Sunday's final home game of the season: 'If you don't mind, I don't want to think about that kind of negativity.'

Hope Liverpool dun waste any more money on one season wonder.
They already got too many of them in the squad.
Now, Henry dun even want to give Ah Ken money to buy players.
Liverpool should be fighting for relegation next season.

To be fair, this guy is not bad and rather consistent season after season.
I think 4th highest goal scorer and highest scoring midfielder this season. With one yr left to his contract, he could be cheap.

A very good utility player..sure he knows if he goes to both Arsenal or Liverpool, he wont be starting...especially at 28...look at Benayoun at Arsenal..
