Wanted man: Dortmund's Shinji Kagawa is attracting interest from Manchester United and Chelsea
Chelsea and Manchester United are leading the race to sign Japan forward Shinji Kagawa who is refusing to sign a contract at Borussia Dortmund.
The 23-year-old is attracted to a switch to the Barclays Premier League due to the huge popularity of the English game in his homeland.
The German club have given him two weeks to decide on a contract extension to 2016 that would double his salary from £1.25million per year to £2.5m. But they would be forced to sell Kagawa in the summer or risk losing him for nothing when his contract runs out in 2013.
Dortmund paid just £294,000 to buy him from J-League Cereza Osaka in summer 2010 but he has been a revelation.
go which teams also the same
Unless u call him play AM/SS lor
Man Utd gt
Wing : Nani, Ashley Young , Valencia , Ji Sung Park
FWD : Berbatov , Welbeck , Rooney , Hernandez, Owen
Chelsea gt
Wing : Malouda , Juan Mata , Sturridge and Kalou
FWD : Torres, Drogba , Lukaku...
Mind as well stay at Dortmund
hope to see another asian in the epl
I guess if he can score eight goals in 18 games in the Bundesliga, he isn't a lousy player. It's not like he scored in the Dutch league, the German league is very difficult as well. Previous players like Berbatov, Demba Ba, Demba Cisse, Edin Dzeko all cross over from the german league to the epl.
And also he left 1 yr contract. So could be a bargain value buy. And still so young.
Man Utd and Chelsea want to sell more jerseys in Japan only lah................
Kagawa that ungrateful arse.....................he'll crash and burn outside Germany..............
he really think he so good ah.....................
Why all talk about strikers one. He is a midfielder leh.
Threat: Shinji Kagawa's goals have helped Dortmund to the Bundesliga title
Borussia Dortmund have given Japanese midfielder Shinji Kagawa until Monday to sign a new contract amid increasing speculation he has been offered a deal by Manchester United.
United want a goalscoring midfielder and are also monitoring Porto's James Rodrigues, Lucas of Sao Paulo and Oscar de Marcos of Athletic Bilbao.
This guy isn't only going to be a squad player. He has every chance to make the first team his own looking at his record at Dortmund.
He has started 29 and only one as sub in Dortmund's 32 league games so far this season.
He is their 2nd highest goalscorer with 13 from midfield. Their top scorer is a striker on 20 goals. One more and he will be their joint 2nd highest assists too.
His record is rather impressive with 30 shots on goal with 13 goals return in the league. And only got 1 yellow card in all 29 matches.
Dortmund are top of the league by a big margin so will most likely win the title. And he played a big role for them this season.
Compare him to German star Mario Gotze also at Dortmund, played only 15, 2 as sub. Golas 5, assists 5, 2 yellow and 1 red card.
At 23 only, he has a lot more to offer.
This guy is a bargain even if he comes at $10m or $12m. Because if you can do well in the German league and even win the title, you can't be a poor player. It's always good to have such players in the squad anyway.
Maybe one day we watch EPL we can hear the commentator goes something like... Hernandez pass to Carrick, Carrick pass to Nani, Nani cross... It's a goalllllll... Mohammed Bin Taufik has scored for manchester united!!!!!!!
or...
David De Gea booted the ball up, chested down by Ashley Young, Young passes it to Rooney, Rooney flicks the ball up in the air, Lim Ah Seng bicycle kick and scoreesssss for man utd and this must be the winning goal!!! They are the champions of europe!!!

Wanted: Red Devils targets Shinji Kagawa (left) and Gylfi Sigurdsson (right)
Borussia Dortmund expect Japan midfielder Shinji Kagawa to join Manchester United this summer after he rejected their latest contract offer.
Dortmund want £5million for the 23-year-old but United are still to finalise a decision.
Sir Alex Ferguson, Mike Phelan and Rene Meulensteen all watched another potential target, Hoffenheim's Gylfi Sigurdsson, on loan at Swansea again on Saturday.

Hot property: Kagawa has helped Dortmund to their second successive title
Manchester United look set to make Japanese attacking midfielder Shinji Kagawa their first signing of the summer.
United have long been admirers of the Borussia Dortmund star, who has had his mind set for a £7million move to England for months, with Arsenal also interested.
Kagawa's is valued at well over £10m, but with his contract set to exprie next summer, Dortmund will cash in on one of their prize assets rather than lose him for free.
Impressive: Shinji Kagawa scores Dortmund's first goal
Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson and assistant Mike Phelan were notable spectators at the German Cup final.
United have been linked with Japan midfielder Shinji Kagawa recently, with quotes coming out of the 23-year-old's homeland suggesting he was about to leave Borussia Dortmund for Old Trafford.
Kagawa certainly did himself no harm this evening, scoring the opener as Dortmund cruised to victory over Bayern Munich to complete the German domestic double. The player has opted not to sign a new contract with his current club and has said he would make a decision about his future after Saturday's game.
Ferguson's presence does seem significant.
Silver service: Kagawa with the trophy
The Red Devils chief has been under pressure to bolster his midfield for some considerable time now and missed out on Samir Nasri last summer when he was outbid by Manchester City.
Kagawa would appear to be the perfect solution, having proved his worth during two outstanding seasons in the Bundesliga.
His age also fits the United profile of buying young players who are still to reach their peak.
After the game, Kagawa said: 'For sure Manchester is a great club, but what the future holds I do not know yet.'
Welcome to man utd...
hope he goes to Man Utd too.......................
he won't make it big ..........that's why................
if Nani, Young and Valencia are also nothing great...................what can this guy do............
Man Utd buying this guy to sell jerseys only lah.................
