On the move: On-loan Alberto Aquilani is set to join AC Milan from Liverpool on a permanent basis
Liverpool fans can finally wave goodbye to £17million flop Alberto Aquilani this summer with the midfielder set to extend his stay at AC Milan in a cut-price move.
The Italy international has been a regular at the San Siro this season and there is a clause in his loan terms from Anfield, which states a permanent deal, in the region of £5m, can be struck after he makes 25 appearances.
The 27-year-old, who spent last season at Juventus, has featured 22 times so far for Milan this term and his agent Franco Zavaglia expects the player to bid farewell to Merseyside for good.
'As it was agreed, a permanent deal will automatically be struck once he makes 25 appearances,' Zavaglia told Italian website Milan News.
'I do not think that Milan will pass up on Aquilani. There is no problem about this, a permanent deal is something we all expect.'
Aquilani arrived at Anfield in 2009 and managed just 28 appearances in a nightmare one-year spell in the Barclays Premier League before returning to Italy.
