We are a community of working individuals who not only enjoy watching and supporting our BPL clubs but we also enjoy going to matches and cheer on the Cheetahs of HGFC.
Rather then depend on the "offical football body" to facilitate the success of the S-league, we feel the onus is on football fans like us to generate local football interest amongst our coutrymen. It will be a long road but we will get there.
And we understand this nationalistic view, that a base of loyal & vocal supporters is important to Hougang United's growth as well as the S-league.
In this blog, we bring you News, Match Reports, Match Previews, Videos and other topics surrounding Hougang United FC.

wow i've been following sleague since 1996 if i'm not wrong..this is a club in Hougang that has undergone the most number of name changes since its induction into the sleague
first it was Marine Castle United FC in its debut season in 1998, then
Sengkang Marine FC
Paya Lebar Punggol FC
Sengkang Punggol FC
now Hougang United FC
In Hougang Utd
i admire Jordan Webb , like Neymar style
I like the new name of the football club Hougang United . I think the choice of the name "Hougang" is a right choice that will attract more interest in the club.
"Hougang" stands for something in Singapore, it is certainly not a mediocre name that has no meaning.
I wish Hougang United Football Club success in their fight.

Two weeks without any football action from Hougang United since the 3-0 thumping of Courts Young Lions has had the Hougang Hools in a state of withdrawal; but nonetheless Saturday is approaching and we can't wait to get ourselves onto the terraces again and into the thick of action.
Geylang United's arrival at the Hougang Stadium or what fans affectionately call it as the "Cheetahs Den" is nothing short of a derby especially when both teams are equally pitted and have beaten each other in stunning fashion last season.
Last March, Geylang put 2 goals past Hougang in a space of 15 minuntes after the Eagles trailed by a goal down and the game ended 2-1 in favour of the Eagles; and then in June delivered a punishing 2-0 win against the Cheetahs.
But then Hougang United have had their moments of glory when in September the Cheetahs returned Geylang United the favour by scoring 2 goals after a goal behind. Hougang whilst playing with only 10 men and a penalty saved clawed a comeback in the dying 10 minutes to lay claim a famous 2-1 victory.
This time however, both teams find themselves in unfamiliar spots. Full Story

Fast off their blocks, the Cheetahs threatened their visitors just inside the first minute when midfielder Ante Barac slid Jordan Webb through but the latter’s shot failed to hit the target.
It was not long before Hougang’s dominance in the early stages of the game paid off. In the 7thminute, Azhar Sairudin picked out the lively Webb with a cross-field pass and the winger received the ball skilfully, before swiftly cutting inside onto his right foot and curling a shot past the hapless Yazid Yasin into the top corner. Hougang continued to dominate possession but failed to capitalise on their chances. Ante Barac shot just wide from the edge of the box, two minutes after the opener. Full Story

Last week's calamity witnessed S-League's side Geylang United destroyed by a 7-1 Home United rout in front of the Geylang crowd.
Home United got into the thick of action early in the 13th minute with former Albirex Niigata striker Shotaro Ihata opening the floodgates slotting in four past the Eagle's custodian. His colleague Frederic Mendy further compounded Geylang's misery with notching in a couple more goals.
That first win performance puts Home United's title contentions back in track and the S-league powerhouse will now pay Hougang United a visit at the Jalan Besar Stadium. A win here would place the Protectors top of the league.
Previous fixtures between Hougang and Home have shown that the Protectors still have an upper hand when it comes to churning out results. They thumped Hougang 5-0 last March and fashioned a 4-2 win against the Cheetahs in May.
The only time Hougang got the better of Home was in the League Cup in which former Hougang midfielder Noor Ali fired the Cheetahs into the finals through a solitary goal. Full story

Both Hougang and Woodlands have seen their positions rise and then slide in the past few weeks, and after a string of unfruitful performances find themselves straddled within mid table. Both teams are separated by a single point, have had back to back losses and drawn their latest encounters.
What ever happens on Friday this clash would determine who goes up a notch and who stays put in the Great Eastern Yeo's S-league standings; and Hougang certainly cannot afford to be left behind. Full story
