Group A: Poland, Greece, Russia, Czech Republic
Group B: Holland, Denmark, Germany, Portugal
Group C: Spain, Italy, Republic of Ireland, Croatia
Group D: Ukraine, Sweden, France, England
The Three Lions, who have been cut from odds of 12-1 to 10-1 to win next summer's finals, were yesterday drawn in Group D along with France, Sweden and co-hosts Ukraine.
But the England boss admitted he was panicking at the prospect of being placed in Group B which ended up with Holland, Denmark, Germany and Portugal.
Capello said: "There was a terrible moment while I waited because Group B was really strong.
"After we got past that, groups C and D were difficult, but Group B was strongest.
"I'm happy because I know all the teams. They're all very good and play well and they'll be difficult games.
"The most difficult will be the first one against France on June 11 because the first game is always hardest with the pressure.
"The result of that game will be really important. But the most important thing will be the players who will stay with me here in Poland and Ukraine and that they'll be at the top of their form.
"The first game will be difficult and the last one against the hosts is tough.
"But all the games in this tournament will be difficult because the levels of the teams will be very high."
The big blow is England will play all their group games in Ukraine — despite being based in the Polish city of Krakow.
England's opener will be in Donetsk. They then play Sweden in Kiev on Friday, June 15 and return to Donetsk for their match against Ukraine on Tuesday, June 19. The draw was not kind to the Republic of Ireland, though.
Their odds of winning the competition went right out to 100-1 after they were matched with Spain, Italy and Croatia.
Group A was dubbed the 'Group of Life' with any of Poland, Greece, Russia and the Czech Republic capable of making it through.
Good chance for England to be in the next round - QF.
Look at all the heavyweights in Group B .....
Group A seems balance for not so tough games...
benefits the host country Poland.
Group B
Denmark wow i meet portugal again
england will struggle to top the group as usual. just look at the last world cup group, where they finished second in the group and faced germany in the second round.

Top the group ?
without you (rooney)... it is a real run for their $$ or early air ticket home. Will Group D meets Group B in the QF ?
The winners and runners-up from Group C and Group D will face each other in the quarter-finals.

Winners and 2nd of Group D ... will have tough games against... Group C favourites Spain & Italy...
Maybe another underdog team will win.
Remember Greece and Denmark previously.
england without rooney will struggle to win any matches, let alone top the group. anyway they dun do well in european championships.
1988 went out in grop stages, finishing bottom of the group with 3 losses.
1992 went out in group stages, winning 2 points.
1996 semi finals with home advantage
2000 went out in group stages with 3 points
2004 quarter finals
2008 didnt qualify
yes... especially Denmark in 1992... who were only in the finals because UEFA did not allow Yugoslavia to participate as some of the states constituting the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia were at a state of war with each other...

That war was instigated from outside elements like Germany and U.S to serve their own strategic interests. Basically U.S and european rivalries over spheres of influence in europe after end of cold war. Yugoslavia was the battlefield for their proxy battles.
Why is NATO in Yugoslavia?

england is lousy with Rooney, some more without? if england survives group stage, it wont survive the quarters for sure.
England's football quite lousy eh... dont expect them to go far.
I hope Russia can go far. I support Russia.

I got a feeling they may end up 3rd in their group.
Behind France and Sweden.

i think england could only win ukraine
