Jack Rodwell
Everton boss David Moyes is willing to sell his stars in a desperate bid to raise cash before the transfer window slams shut.
Moyes is open to offers for Jack Rodwell, Jermaine Beckford, Diniyar Bilyaletdinov, Joseph Yobo and Yakubu as word goes round that quick money is required at Goodison Park.
Rodwell was mentioned in talks with Tottenham about a potential swap involving Peter Crouch – as Hotline revealed – and the England Under-21 starlet could be sold if the price is right.
Drastic
Moyes is being forced to consider drastic measures because owner Bill Kenwright has confirmed the badly-kept secret the Toffees are stuck in a financial mess.
Everton may have to raise up to £10million in the next 10 days, and Moyes does NOT want to lose Phil Jagielka to Arsenal to balance the books.
The word is out that he would sooner part with lesser lights.
Rodwell’s sale could cover that shortfall even if it will come as a shock, while Bilyaletdinov is also up for grabs.
Beckford, a target for Leicester and Blackburn, may also be sacrificed.
Moyes and Kenwright had the chance to sell Yobo to Fenerbahce earlier in the summer and may now be prepared to take a smaller sum to get him off the books.
Yakubu is another who has been available, but previously overvalued.
Neither he nor Yobo feature in Moyes’ long-term plans. The Scot has been looking for loans and cheap deals, but the bank overdraft is limiting him – and only a handful of exits will give him any breathing space.
Doncaster keeper Gary Woods is on Everton’s radar.
The 20-year-old stopper began his career at Manchester United and the Toffees are considering signing him as back- up for Tim Howard after missing out on Andy Lonergan to Leeds. Goalkeeping coach Chris Woods has checked out his namesake on several occasions and Moyes hopes to put together a package to bring him to Merseyside.
since fergie is an admirer of Jack Rodwell, so why didnt he moved for him I wonder?
everton should find a new owner.
Everton have not bought a single player this year i think... The club is so broke...
I don't know, but is Jack Rodwell any good?
I see Phil Jones only so few times and I already find him a good player. J Rod, as what they call him... Good enough yet ?
But if $12m with add ons to $15m still ok lah but if they want $20m then no thanks...
