A Brazilian footballer has become a global laughing stock after his unbelievable miss took the internet by storm.
The player, who was taking part in a local league match in Brazil, appeared to have done all the hard work by latching onto a perfect long pass and cleverly playing the ball past the keeper.
The ball was speeding towards the goal already, but the striker wanted to emphasise his skill by running it up to the empty goal and blasting it in.
That's what his plan was, at any rate - but what happened next truly beggars belief.
To make sure the ball really goes into the net, all players should just take the ball nicely and slowly across the goal line.
Not trying to blast the ball in.
Celebrate only when the ball has crossed the line.
its a typical case of 'kiang diou ho mai kay kiang'.
Accuracy and not power is what that matters here.
When you blast hard, there's always the danger that you might hit the ball at the wrong angle and end up shooting high or wide.
All he needed was a little controlled tap.
Lolx at tis
wad is he thinking?
Ram ah
then miss
nice miss
Lucky it was in Brazil... The Mafias would have him shot if in Italy

Correct. It was only one shot in this case as well.
It hit the crossbar, then the ball bounced by itself into goal. As long as there was only that one single kick, the goal stands.
It is considered no different from having the ball deflecting into goal after hitting the goalpost.
Dumb sia
the 2nd case. same as the previous brazil goalie right?
Apparently, this match is to be replayed.
"According to Corriere dello Sport, Dro filed an appeal over this goal and won on the basis that, during a shootout, a ball that hits the bar and lands back onto the pitch is to be ruled dead (which a few referees have written to say is an incorrect interpretation of FIFA rules). So the match will be replayed and Angeli will probably be much more attentive if it goes to penalties again."
So what is the real correct FIFA ruling for these sorts of cases?
