If God found you, then you would be outside of religion, no?
Sorry to be so pushy but I am really curious... God found you and you decided on the RC church. Why not Hinduism, or something else, for example?Originally posted by Fatum:cos it just happened ......

Or do you mean that God found you while you were attending mass, or something like that?
OIC, you were already attending a RC Church... that figures....Originally posted by Fatum:that was one ... but I was unconvinced till I had a real and direct experience, something sublime, esoteric ... with which words are such a poor medium to express the experience with ....

Ya, I kena a few times, "if you don't listen to me, you go to hell". Listen already so turned off. I immediately distance myself from them. The way jesus/god pass judgement to allow good christians to heaven and non-christians be it good or bad to hell is one of the main reasons i chose not to believe in christianity. Its rather unfair don't you think?Originally posted by laoda99:My personal views
1. Why do Christians seek for eternal afterlife?
I do not think it is exclusive for Christians in seeking for eternal afterlife. I think it is a human thing, not just for Christians. It is a "human need". What is ur take on this?
Well, I don't see the point about worrying of eternal afterlife, cause I do not know does it really exist a not. My principle of life is, whether is there really heaven and hell or not, I will do my best to help people whenever I can, I do not need a religion nor reason to help people. I do not think what will happen to me afterlife, I just think how can I help people in need when they approach me.
2. Why Christians regard afterlife more important than now?
Our life here on earth is only temporal. Very soon we will pass on. If afterlife is eternal, isn't this more important than NOW, which is temporal?
Like above, I do not believe in heaven nor hell in afterlife. If there is, or like christians said, jesus/god will judge you whether you get to heaver or hell. When that time comes, I rather god pass judgement on me based on merits, and not because i'm not a christian. It's like an adopted son being filial, but no matter what he does, he can never be on equal standing to the real son.
3. Why is that non-Christians go to hell?
I remembered when I was in sec 2 one of my classmate keep asking me, a buddhist, to go to hell if I am not a Christian. I was truely offended by it. But coming back to the question, the bible says only Jesus has authority to judge and that he will know all those who has been given to him. We also know that those who has Jesus has life, and that no one go to the father except thru Jesus. Of coz, this is our beliefs, and I think the thing that is wrong here sometimes in the evangelical approach: how we reach out to non-christians.
It is more like the approach of attracting people to the community, I bet Jesus or all other Almighty ones do not deflame the other believers of other religions.Originally posted by cloud210:Ya, I kena a few times, "if you don't listen to me, you go to hell". The proper way to phrase this will be like this. Protestants and Catholics are both Christians. For Protestants they attend services. It's usually P&W followed by preaching. Catholics attend Mass. To generalize, the basis of Protestant faith is personal and the Bible is the pillar (of coz faith too). Catholics attend Mass and we go through and have the 7 sacraments. Beyond this the pillars of the Catholic church is the Bible, Mageisterium and Traditions.Originally posted by Wu Tang Clanionaire:can sumone lemma kno a differences btw catholic and christian?????????
