no need to split hair on this one lah.... we collect toys because we love toys.... that's the bottom line....Originally posted by storywolf:That is why I am toy collector & you are toy lover !
See the different .... !
You take it out an play with you toys - for your own enjoyment.
I keep my toys in their orginial perfect condition - as much as I would like to play with them for my own enjoyment, the joy of sharing with others is greater, that is to let other see and enjoy the toys in their orginial and perfect condition.
Yep sometime a collector may re-sell some toys and do make money out of it ! But the main thing is not the re-selling value - but able to let someone else who love and treasure the toy more have it at the perfect condition.
how do u bring it back? it's very long and freaking heavy.Originally posted by rainee:looks the same as my dear's one
Bought it for the same price too, but we took it back ourselves. Now the cabinet is also used to display all his toys and my gifts for him.
Maybe later he will come in and put up a pic

i also fixed up the glass cabinet myself. find that can be quite dangerous as this is glass after all. need at least 2 people to assemble and must have enough space at home for assembly.Originally posted by Chin Eng:Ikea products packed flat right? Then go home and DIY lah.... I love doing that.
yes l agreed on that..as long as we dun harbour the intention of collecting toys juz to sell them in future... it is alrite..we toy lovers juz love our toys and that is the bottomline if not y will we intend to buy them to collect in the 1st placeOriginally posted by Chin Eng:no need to split hair on this one lah.... we collect toys because we love toys.... that's the bottom line....
if we collect toys to sell at a profit, then this person is an investor.
ya lo..anyway gordon what is fail qc ah? what it means?Originally posted by Gordonator:i see. it's always best to examine the toy closely before buying. regardless of whether the shop or seller is trustworthy or not.
sometimes if the box looks too old and crumbled it's better to ask for a new one or look elsewhere first. cos i know some shops sells bootleg toys, meaning those fail QC ones, at a lower price. sometimes even at original price.
that's why one must look very closely to spot whether the toy is real or not.
in a factory where it manufacture say for example figurines. let say it manufacture a total of 10,000 figurines. out of this 10,000 surely there is small percentage that fail QC.Originally posted by xShevchenkox:ya lo..anyway gordon what is fail qc ah? what it means?
oh okie...thanks gordonOriginally posted by Gordonator:in a factory where it manufacture say for example figurines. let say it manufacture a total of 10,000 figurines. out of this 10,000 surely there is small percentage that fail QC.
so instead of being thrown away they are sold at a cheaper price. this is what we call bootleg.
some characteristics of bootleg are poor quality colouring, broken parts, uneven texture, unable to stand straight, bending etc. that's why buyers must examine closely before buying.
