Are your toys on display?

Avid toy collectors, I'm curious - do you have special cabinets to display your toys? Special boxes? Where do you display them - living room, study room, etc?
Or are they just festering in boxes in the store room?
Do share! I'm wondering if it's practical to build simple display cabinets for toys.
And if you had the option of designing display cabinets - how would you do it?

Once open - the toy value take a very big drop in value. -
My toys are all deboxed and place inside display cabinets. Some of them are in boxes so that I can recycle the display when I feel like it.
I keep them on separate shelving based on the collection or the theme.
My wife's dolls are inside a 8 ft x 7 ft cabinet with the inside back mirrored. Her dolls are also inside two other narrower cupboards in another part of the house. Some (perhaps 20 of them) are not on display cos she has no space.
Personally, I feel that as a toy collector, putting them inside the packaging do not allow you to enjoy them to the fullest, but this is just me. -

Yup, too wife's main cabinet is custom made. Primary requirement: deeper shelves, mirror backed, top lighting, wood framed glass doors. Each shelf has a dehumidifier pack on it. Placed in a darker part of the hall so that the sun doesn't get to it.
The smaller ones are from Ikea. -

wanna play acrylic display for my playmobil dollhouse but too expensive (300+ coming to 400, more expensive than the toys itself)
Dollhouse and dozens of smurfs now lying under computer monitor cover........lots of dust........mebbe situation will improve when I move to my own house -

Toy display liao alway get dusty , and buying display case seem wasting alot money and space . Any solution to prevent dusty ?

My girlfriend shrink wrapped them using a device and plastic covers bought from Sim Lim Sq basement. I noticed some camera shots are using the same thing for their display set cameras.
You just need to put the toys in the plastic covers, seal the opening with the device, and then use a blow dryer to blow dry. The plastic covers will shrink upon contact with hot air and wrap around the toy. -

Barbie boxes emphasize on this point. Their boxes try to expose the doll as much as possible, to the extent the box is a substitute for an actual display case. -
