  Antibiotics have not proven to be effective. Treatment of SARS so far has been largely supportive with anti-pyretics, supplemental oxygen and ventilatory support as needed.

  I thought it's a virus that causes SARS? How come antibiotics are used? Been taught that antibiotics don't work on viruses, but used to prevent bacterial infection should the bacteria "sneak" in when the immune system is weakened.

  I think they have written it for those who don't know that antibiotics are not effective against viruses.

  Can we use antibiotic against viruses that replicate themselves in bacteria as the host? Say like the T4 bacteriophage?

  T cell in the body only works 3 days after you got infected.
