Regulating and delaying no relationship?Originally posted by wxhon1:Some years back (when I was in my teens), a gynae prescribe these to regulate my period. When I asked if those were hormones pills, she said no. I was on these for 3 months. But because I am not the kind to remember to take the drug daily, I didn't go back to the gynae for follow-up.. :p
Was again prescribed this drug abt 2 weeks back when I went to the GP for late period (late period for 4 months). But he didn't kinda explain the use and such.
I finished the course of the medication and it had been almost a week.. but still no period.. and when i called the GP and asked, he said, it easier to postpone than forward.. so, what am I suppose to do? wait? or go back and ask for more of these pills? Some GP would just give what paitents ask for and this GP happpens to be one of those..

Gynae says one thing.. GP says another..

I think your GP or whoever hasn't done a blood test to see the levels of your hormones. To find out what is the reason, this test has to be done, then the doc can decide which medication he/she can prescribe you. Go to your gynaecologist and ask for the hormones level test. Also ask for an abdominal sonography. I'm wondering you were not ordered for this check up and tests.
You are not pregnant, right?
A comprehensive blood test usually doesn't include the hormone level test.Originally posted by wxhon1:Think the reason why further checks were not ordered by the GP was because I did a comprehensive blood test, which was required by my company for insurance purposes.
As for the gynae, most probably because I was much younger than.. so, she think regulating period is more crucial at that point of time..
