Is the feeling similar to the feeling you get when water enters your ear?Originally posted by sinicker:my left ear is experiencing this feeling that i do not know how to describe.. "numb".. "going-to-be-deaf" feeling.. what is happening? i don't swim. water didnt enter my ear..
The gas is produced by the baceria living in your colon. Those are harmeless bacteria who help us to digest food. They even provide certain positive health benefits to the body. These bacteria rely on the indigestible food we eat for their own nutrition. Certain foods are more likely to cause certain bacteria to thrive. Gas forming bacteria generally feed on certain carbohydrates and sugars. So if these carbohydrates are reduced or eliminated from the diet, the gas can usually be significantly reduced. Individual response to certain foods is also a factor in producing gas. For example, two people can eat the same amount of the same carbohydrate. One forms large amounts of gas, while the other only little or none.Originally posted by gorby107:Hi Doctors
How to prevent your intestine to have no or lesser gas???
Sometimes I have this problem, if I eat very little for breakfast and don't eat for a long hours then I will have gastric which embarrass myself(you know what I mean)
So should I eat more???? Or prevent those foods that produce gases???
Thanks a lot

I was at SGH A&E last night.
The stomach and back pain was killing me, no choice but to rush down to hospital. I had stomach pain for 1 week already. The stomach pain led to back pain.
Doctor gave me a jab and medication and observed me till 1am.
Then she gave me a prescription.
Antacid mixture (Polysillic III)
Hyoscine-N-butyibromide tablet 10mg
My question is, for how long should I take the medicine given to me? She nv ask me to finish all or what.. I dun really feel the pain now. And I know the medicine has a strong drowsy effect on me.
Juz had diarrhoea.. but did not take medicine for diarrhoea. Should I take Colodium or Librax if the diarrhoea dun stop?
Well, it's not wise to expose oneself to the direct sun for a long time when the temperatures are high, but a healthy person can manage that without getting a heatstroke, unless the temperatures are extremely high (Over 35 Celsius). Small children are more sensitive towards the direct sun and heat. They can get heatstroke, sunburn and dehydratation.Originally posted by a_splash:HI,
just want to know is having ball game training at 1pm under the sun fine?? i thot ppl can get heatstroke...
haizzz....i tot i have always been told its very bad for health to be out in the sun in the afternoon sun....and wats more the training is 2 plus hours....yesterday my girl come home with a looks like sun burnt face....i m wory and this will be weekly training...they have another weekly on the following day at 3plus..that one i think is ok...
had written to the teacher in charge but she insist she had done that with other groups of student, they were fine.....haizzz....it seems like i m the only parent complaining....
i try to search for topic on this so that i can attached and send to the school again...this time i m going to 'appeal' to the principal to look into this...
any article for me??
it's ok, my doctors have given me medicine that will last me 6 months.Originally posted by thinkdifferent:Browniebaobao, I am really sorry that we have overseen your post.
Do you still have these problems? In other forum you said that you have been diagnosed with some disease for which is no cure. Is it related to these problems? Do you know now how you should handle it?
You are welcome, you can ask as many questions as you need.Originally posted by a_splash:Dear thinkdifferent,
Thank you very much for your reply and for helping me found the website.
I had sent her another email and it seems due to their coach timing and others she is unable to change the time.
So its like given no choice, the children had to bear with the hot sun.
I will just have to take all necessary precaution to lessen the sunburnt and dehydration.
So mineral water is a better choice than our boiled water. ok noted. What about those sports drink?? (maybe once in a while?? are they necessary? is it fine for young children to take them?) (excuse me for so many questions)
I will find a good sunblock for her.
umm i wonder if the teacher mind i get her to put on cap (with the front reverse to the back) i will check that out...
Thanks!
thanks for the reply thinkdifferent.Originally posted by thinkdifferent:I think the teacher should atleast respect the wish of a worried mother to protect her daughter with a cap when changing the timing of the training is not possible.
Stomach ulcers, helicobacter pylori (it cuases ulcers), stress, empty stomach producing the digestive juices which started to digest the walls of the stomach (the ulcers are developed this way), some strange object in the stomach swallowed by accident, food which is very hard to digest, food irritating the stomach (very spicy or very sour like a vinegar), cancer (I don't want to scare you) or some virus you caught which causes the "enteral flu".Originally posted by Kuali Baba:Can someone please tell me a number of things that pains in the stomach could mean?
How long have you been experiencing this? Past few weeks , days or months?Originally posted by CoolMyth:Don't know if this constitutes a health problem but just asking to be safe.
Nowadays, whenever I'm climbing the stairs, occasionally, one of my legs will just like "forget" to lift itself up to the next step and almost causing me to trip.
Isn't the action supposed to be a natural thing? The only reason I thought of so far is that I'm possibly daydreaming/thinking of sometime else but the thing is, how much concentration do you need to climb the stairs?
Like once or twice this past week. Had a similar experience in the past but not very frequent. It happens rarely. No numbness or weakness though.Originally posted by thinkdifferent:How long have you been experiencing this? Past few weeks , days or months?
Does it happen only when climbing the stairs or also when walking? Any other similar happenings, for example numbness or weakness, feeling tired?
I would send you to a neurologist if I could. Maybe it's because I'm interested in neurology that I think of a neurological problem, but I don't want to scare you so I won't tell you what is on my mind. If it continues, you should see a doc.Originally posted by CoolMyth:Like once or twice this past week. Had a similar experience in the past but not very frequent. It happens rarely. Peharps I'm just feeling tired? Maybe it's all the stress that's creeping into me.....

So far, try vitamine B6 and B12.
Could be a reaction on the caffeine. I too have this hunger feeling after it. Caffeine supports the metabolism, your body probably burns more energy after it and you feel hungry. It makes the BP higher, the nausea feeling could be from it.Originally posted by alfagal:Why issit that when i drink coffee (might it b from coffebean, NYDC or instant ones) and tea (esp those jasmine green tea in a can...) i get hungry v easily?
sometimes even feel lik vommiting...other times feel v bloated...feel like eating, but nausea.... but after eating stomach still feel discomfort...
it only happens when i have coffeeOriginally posted by oxford mushroom:Caffeine does stimulate gastrin secretion, which in turns increases gastric acid production. However, your symptoms may not necessarily be related to caffeine. H.pylori infection, gastritis, gallstones and peptic ulcer disease all can give rise to similar symptoms. Stop the coffee and see if it helps. Otherwise, see your GP and he can arrange for a breath test for H.pylori and further investigations if necessary.
Well, caffeine is known to promote the reflux of gastric acids back up from the stomach to the esophagus.. and this may well explain your feeling of nausea.Originally posted by alfagal:it only happens when i have coffee
