NEW MYSTERY
After being exposed to loud sounds for a certain period of time, why do you hear a ringing in your ears? which part of the ear is responsible for this?

Errr... we have two muscles in the middle ear, one is the tensor tympani while the other is the stapedius muscle (controlled by the facial nerve).Originally posted by alfagal:wa chim...dunno wat u talking bout!
hee...
middle ear it is...
but not too sure bout the protecting part..
Yeah, they are the segmentations, but where can you find them in the kidney?Originally posted by hisoka:the triangles are not the segmentations meh? the compartments i forgot call what le
Renal medulla?Originally posted by renorenal:Oh... you got the organs correct... now tell me where is the Egypt
Wah.. Physiology Dean's List.Originally posted by renorenal:Errr... we have two muscles in the middle ear, one is the tensor tympani while the other is the stapedius muscle (controlled by the facial nerve).
They are protective muscles that contracts on loud noises (high decibels) and when they contract they immobilize and hence reduces the vibration of the ossicles, hence reducing the vibration onto the foot plate of the stapes bone which is attached to the oval window. So less bony conduction of air to fluid conduction in the cocchlea (endolymph)...
Precisely! We have the renal cortex which are filled with all those PCTs, DCTs and a little of collecting ducts, the renal medulla is composed of all those Loop of Henles...Originally posted by cornyfish2000:Renal medulla?
where?Originally posted by renorenal:Yeah, they are the segmentations, but where can you find them in the kidney?
Medulla?Originally posted by renorenal:Yeah, they are the segmentations, but where can you find them in the kidney?
