You are advised to keep your perineal (genitals) area clean during menstruation and to wipe from front to back, do you know the justification for this and the implication if none is done? [/b]
How do they develop the resistance?Originally posted by hisoka:its to kill them all so that nothing remains becuase once they have been expposed they might develop the resistance or immunity

You are advised not to apply plaster over minor cuts or wounds in your fingers or anywhere. Do you know the advantage? [/b]
mutation lor no meh?Originally posted by renorenal:How do they develop the resistance?
You got your first part right...
You need a good supply of air to aid in healing, and to prevent the colonization of certain anaerobic bacterias... GOOD!Originally posted by hisoka:no obstruction in healing?
Yes... that's the term... mutation through it's reproduction of new bacteria, certain parts on the DNA or RNA of the bacteria get's deleted and produce a different strain of microbes altogether which survives against the antibiotics. Hence you have to kill all to reduce their chances of reproducing any clever ideas to bypass the meds...Originally posted by hisoka:mutation lor no meh?
what happens if they do get to mutate??Originally posted by renorenal:Yes... that's the term... mutation through it's reproduction of new bacteria, certain parts on the DNA or RNA of the bacteria get's deleted and produce a different strain of microbes altogether which survives against the antibiotics. describe in further why infection and where infection...Originally posted by hisoka:infection arh?
They reproduce and the next time when you get reinfected again with the same species, the superbacteria will transmit their genes to the lamebacterias and both become super... and then you have to find another superior and more expensive meds to counter them...Originally posted by heavenscloud:what happens if they do get to mutate??
u get the disease again??
so what happens then if the bacteria has resistance the most powerful n expensive meds???Originally posted by renorenal:They reproduce and the next time when you get reinfected again with the same species, the superbacteria will transmit their genes to the lamebacterias and both become super... and then you have to find another superior and more expensive meds to counter them...
Then we have the super super bacteria, so far our pharmacologists are quite efficient... actually if u understand chemistry, these medications are made up of several hundreds of chemical bonds with strings of atoms going everywhere, breaking off certain branch and reconnecting it somewhere else relevant will yield a totally different and powerful medication... there are thousands of possibilities for that, so far it has been rather effective...Originally posted by heavenscloud:so what happens then if the bacteria has resistance the most powerful n expensive meds???
no cure liao?
apparently thats why there are some issues on how last time doctors anyhow give antibodies and thats why nowadays antibodies are given sparingly.Originally posted by heavenscloud:so what happens then if the bacteria has resistance the most powerful n expensive meds???
no cure liao?
nowadays, it's more like if you dun give, patients will ask why you dun give and demand for it... this is quite epidemic now... until you explain to them that it is viral, but they dun trust u... somehow its the consequence from ur statement above...Originally posted by hisoka:apparently thats why there are some issues on how last time doctors anyhow give antibodies and thats why nowadays antibodies are given sparingly.
the powerful meds are your upgraded ones lor... they are stored up in a special box and only the specialists can prescribe them... without their signature, you can't get the meds at all...Originally posted by heavenscloud:so there is no such thing as the most powerful medicine right? since u can always come up wif "upgraded" versions..
heh this i know abit so can say moreOriginally posted by renorenal:They reproduce and the next time when you get reinfected again with the same species, the superbacteria will transmit their genes to the lamebacterias and both become super... and then you have to find another superior and more expensive meds to counter them...

Some other examples:-
Sinusitis may present with toothache...

Slipped disk present as pain on your thigh...
Appendicitis present as pain on your umbillicus...[/b]

Yes, this is known as referred pain. Embryologically, certain organs develop from similar origins and receive the same nerve supply, and their information sent to the brain is represented in a fixed area. The organs once fully develop will be at separate anatomical location though it may be quite nearby.Originally posted by hisoka:hmm let me think its called referred pain right?
dunno why my prof never tell me maybe cuase the nerves endings are joined bah
