NEW MYSTERY
When you sit on the floor with one leg on top of the other, you are more prone to get 'pins and needles', but do you know why?
Why spasm?Originally posted by hisoka:muscle spams
Yes, and...?Originally posted by hisoka:constriction of blood vessels leading to impaired blood circulation?
erm cos unregulated ion channels opening?Originally posted by renorenal:Why spasm?
still got what? the cells and tissues get starved lorOriginally posted by renorenal:Yes, and...?
Don't have to go so in-depth...Originally posted by hisoka:erm cos unregulated ion channels opening?
Yes.... and then?Originally posted by hisoka:still got what? the cells and tissues get starved lor
still got what? erm then the nerve cells conduct the signals via the axons to the main cell body then erm the signal transmitted to the cns adn then to the cephalic arh??Originally posted by renorenal:Yes.... and then?
You are deviating from the course of your answer...Originally posted by hisoka:still got what? erm then the nerve cells conduct the signals via the axons to the main cell body then erm the signal transmitted to the cns adn then to the cephalic arh??
hmm lactic acid? i dunno the products of anareobic energy generation lahOriginally posted by renorenal:You are deviating from the course of your answer...
First you answered lack of blood flow from compression, and then the cells start to starve because there is lack of oxygen to run their engines, so their activity is kept to a low level and instead of aerobic activity, they now run at an anaerobic state. What is produced in this anaerobic state which can cause the uncomfortable sensation of pins and needles?
Yeap, lactic acid accumulates... but note that when you compress it that time, there is no pins and needles sensation, it is only when you relieve it and start to walk around a bit, does the sensation comes about. Now, why so?Originally posted by hisoka:hmm lactic acid? i dunno the products of anareobic energy generation lah
but the reason is cause impaired blood flow not wrong mah, just that i dunno the details lor
erm cos the byproducts spread around arh?Originally posted by renorenal:Yeap, lactic acid accumulates... but note that when you compress it that time, there is no pins and needles sensation, it is only when you relieve it and start to walk around a bit, does the sensation comes about. Now, why so?
Yes... and this is caused by the reperfusion of your blood flow in a faster rate than normal...Originally posted by hisoka:erm cos the byproducts spread around arh?
Don't understandOriginally posted by hisoka:the mroe fats you have the more blood vessel to supply nutrients to the fats lah
That one is different... it explains why there can be an acute liver failure in a person who is drinking a lot of alcohol at one go, but it doesn't explain why fat men can endure the intake and don't get high or drunk so soon...Originally posted by ndmmxiaomayi:I want to give up the alcohol and fat man mystery already.........
Still cannot find answers........
My last try, after that I will be waiting for answers.
Only know that drinking alcohol got calories like nutrients.
Just read from a website that alcohol reduces the fat calories burned and alcohol can increase your appetite. Since the fat man has more fats, drinking more alcohol does not make him drunk only increase his appetite.

Fatigue as in muscle fatigue like for example when you are straining your eyeballs for a magnificent period of time either in a computer or a microscope, your eye muscles are maintained at a single posture to allow you to strain your eyes. Hence without relaxation, the muscles are stressed upon (in cellular level, vital ions get screwed up all over the place which leads to an imbalance of sufficient ions in and outside of the cell). This will lead to an irregular and involuntary muscular contraction which is known as spasm or twitching to us. Any muscles, not only the eye muscles can be involved as well.Originally posted by ndmmxiaomayi:Read from a website:
Fatigue causes the twitching of eyelids. Tension also causes it.

Close, but still not enough to answer my question...Originally posted by ndmmxiaomayi:That's it. I give up.
Kidding.
Heavier people can drink more because the alcohol is spread over a larger body mass. Skinny people surface area to volume ratio lower ma. So that's why skinny people get drunk easily.
izzit bcoz smaller people haf smaller blood volume?? so for the same amount of alcohol, thin people are likier to have a higher alcohol concentration in the blood compared to fat man. tio bo??Originally posted by renorenal:Close, but still not enough to answer my question...
