Usually I ignore the pain when I am doing something else. Then when I finish and my mind isn't occupied with something else, I realize I am unjured and then feel the pain fully. Once my big toe got mashed but I wanted to carry on with what I was doing though the pain and soon ignored the pain. Then after one hour I heared: "Your shoe is bleeding!" I looked at my foot and almost fainted. Then the pain started to be unbearable, I couldn't walk from pain but still had to drive myeslf about 20 kms and for that had to ignore the pain again else I wouldn't be able to drive with that foot, but not to hospital, I thought my mother can nurse my foot. Ofcourse she brought me to hospital to surgery clinic, though I was still protesting, even when seening instead of my big toe a meaty bloody mass. I think I was in shock and hence ignoring the pain and the severity of the injury.
I have realized, that I often carry on even when I have pain and then worsen my condition. I'm no cry baby, but maybe I should be more careful. -
