my qn is is the skull smooth? is it normal to have protrusions and depressions coming out?
From what I have read, if you are not delivered naturally, you probably will have protrusions and depressions depending on the method used to deliver.Originally posted by borntolive:my qn is is the skull smooth? is it normal to have protrusions and depressions coming out?
last yr ..i dont think i had ever had a hard fall...if childbirth trauma then i child got already wad ..why when i reach end of puberty then gotOriginally posted by renorenal:How long has these problem occurred?
Did you ever fell head down on a hard surface?
Were you subjected to any childbirth trauma - vacuum extraction or forceps extraction (these information can be obtained from your parents)...
The last question depends on how you answer my first question mar... I didn't know when it started in the first place so mah channel the questions to you lor...Originally posted by borntolive:last yr ..i dont think i had ever had a hard fall...if childbirth trauma then i child got already wad ..why when i reach end of puberty then got
lump is at back of skull, just above neck...its as hard as a bone..just a bony lump...when i feel it painless, only when my back of my skull lye on hard surface and press against it then there is slight pain.. this is the biggest one..then there is this minor depression on my side of skull where it is quite soft to touch in the depression..other than that other very small lumo wher ei have to press hard on skull then i can feel it..generally my skull isnt smoothOriginally posted by renorenal:The last question depends on how you answer my first question mar... Alright.. how did you noticed it?
Tell me more about this lump... where is it SPECIFICALLY, how hard is it (is it as hard as your forehead, your nose or your chin, feel yourself and let me know)...
Only pain upon lying down on a surface yar?
Big as in how big is it?Originally posted by borntolive:lump is at back of skull, just above neck...its as hard as a bone..just a bony lump...when i feel it painless, only when my back of my skull lye on hard surface and press against it then there is slight pain.. this is the biggest one..then there is this minor depression on my side of skull where it is quite soft to touch in the depression..other than that other very small lumo wher ei have to press hard on skull then i can feel it..generally my skull isnt smooth
size of a marble surrounding seems abit elevated...i also got quite rapid hair loss also..related?Originally posted by renorenal:Big as in how big is it?
Side of skull means near to your ear? A depression can be quite common and it depends on how fast and slow the skull bone fuses earlier in life, you may not have noticed it when you were younger.
There may be if the hair loss is located on the lump, coz the lump may have originated from the skin itself and gets fixed to the underlying skull bone.Originally posted by borntolive:size of a marble surrounding seems abit elevated...i also got quite rapid hair loss also..related?
thks
no side effects ..no rubbery lumps...jus tthat neck stiff n tiredness but i think all this r not caused by lumpOriginally posted by renorenal:There may be if the hair loss is located on the lump, coz the lump may have originated from the skin itself and gets fixed to the underlying skull bone.
It's very hard to tell without seeing you personally, and examining you, but how is your vision? Is it blurry (and I am not referring to far or short sightedness)?
A lump that originates from that back can come firstly from the skin, fat cells or the bone itself. Based on your description, I believe it is bony in origin.
Do you noticed any other rubbery lumps on your neck, armpit or groin?
Rapid hair loss may be genetically inherited, however it may be secondary to conditions of taking chemotherapeutic drugs for cancer...
I think it's just a simple bony cyst which is benign.Originally posted by borntolive:no side effects ..no rubbery lumps...jus tthat neck stiff n tiredness but i think all this r not caused by lump
i done but polyclininc one where they say any health prob they will call me..but no calls, been to quite docs they say normal..some dont even want to take a look at it...Originally posted by renorenal:I think it's just a simple bony cyst which is benign.
Other than pain on lying down, are there any other difficulties that this lump is causing you?
Have you ever done a skull X-ray before to find out what is actually wrong?
Do you have any medical illnesses or any surgery done before?
Woah luckily I ask you the medical question... Now I know what is your problem... you have thalassaemia minor, which means that your blood count may be in the inadequate side... Your Hb may be low, but I am not sure about this (you have your medical records?)Originally posted by borntolive:i done but polyclininc one where they say any health prob they will call me..but no calls, been to quite docs they say normal..some dont even want to take a look at it...

No, it is not harmful... it's the body's response towards it. You don't have to worry that much.Originally posted by borntolive:so is it harmful...i thought thalessmia minor is not a health prob?
headache as in norm headache ..no other side effect only when i shake my head then its pain..Originally posted by renorenal:About your headache, can you tell me which part of the head is involved?
When the pain comes, where does it start, and does it moves to anywhere else?
What kind of pain is it? Is it throbbing or sharp?
Prior to developing the headache, is your vision blurry, or do you see zig-zag lines or it becomes dark?
Do you feel better to stay in a room which is dark and silent when you have this headache? Is it also better if you sleep it off, waking up and find that the headache has resolved?
How long does this headache usually last in one attack, in hours?
I am thinking more of migraine, but I need your location of the headache.
Probably just a mild tension headache...Originally posted by borntolive:headache as in norm headache ..no other side effect only when i shake my head then its pain..
