More like rehabilitation. Yeah... it is not a lot of fun, but you have to as a doctor... otherwise, the PEMADAM (Persatuan Mencegah Dadah Malaysia) will come and arrest all of them and lock them up without giving them a chance to recover.Originally posted by ndmmxiaomayi:Counceling drug abuse patients?

Singapore practises the same thing. Yeah... but hardly here, you will find them turning themselves in. They would claim that they do not have the problem.
And even though they are put on treatment, there is a very HIGH chance of them defaulting treatment, and found abusing the substance a few days down the road.
Or you would see them using their medications and selling them to others for a high price.
The medications used to counter the particular substance is the substance alone but acts much more slowly so that the patient will slowly tail off his needs or desires for the drug. -
Read in the newspapers that heroin abusers who are trying to get off heroin are abusing Subutex. How come like that? Aren't Subutex supposed to help them to get off the drug? Why they abuse it?

The heroin they use is a fast acting opiate whereas buprenorphine is slow acting...
Slow counters fast, the patient may still get his 'dose' but in very low amounts, so that he can gradually taper his addiction off, by continuing this medication over a long time.
With improvement, his dose will be reduced over time, and then finally ceased. Some abuse this drug and sell it... -
By e way...y do they give muscle relaxants to pple who went thru an auto accident?
given that e person is not hurt at all due to seat belts n air bag.. -

What kinda medications coz muscle relaxants can be combined with many other properties of one drug itself...
Suxamethonium is a muscle relaxant, but solely used prior to Electroconvulsive therapy to calm the patient down and prevent muscle injuries during transmission of electricity through his brain... -
