Panic attack: intense fear accompanied by symptoms such as a pounding heart, trembling, shortness of breath or frea of losing control or dying.
1. situationally bound panic attack: occur before or during the exposure to a particular stimuli

Waiting for Dr Renorenal to come in.Originally posted by alfagal:Well, situation 1 and 2 are usually pple who have obsessive-complusive disorder or social phobia, which is not u in this case.
since u relate more to situation 3, where ur triggers are unknown, you wild still have a diagnose closer to a GAD than any of the other disorders...
We shall wait and see wat Dr Reno has to say first..
Do you have any fear of open spaces, being in the crowds, or fear of being outside the home alone?Originally posted by ndmmxiaomayi:Waiting for Dr Renorenal to come in.
Answer to all three questions: No.Originally posted by renorenal:Do you have any fear of open spaces, being in the crowds, or fear of being outside the home alone?
Do you feel much better to stay at home?
Do you have this problem of checking your house lock, car lock, gas in the stove over and over again? Or any problems with washing your hands again and again because you feel that it is dirty?
Who in your family do you feel that you are very attached to?Originally posted by ndmmxiaomayi:Answer to all three questions: No.
No separation, unless you count parents going to work as separation.Originally posted by renorenal:Who in your family do you feel that you are very attached to?
Were you, when you were young (childhood) separated from that person that you are attached to very closely? How did you feel if this did happened in the past?

Hmmm... like one of your parents whom you feel very attached to left for overseas for a few months for some work or courses, or "touch wood" they were hospitalized for some reason for a long period of time, or they have to just go away due to work reason, leaving you alone with the other parent.Originally posted by ndmmxiaomayi:No separation, unless you count parents going to work as separation.
As for how I felt, I felt scared.
Nope. Never went overseas to work when I am young. Neither were they hospitalized.Originally posted by renorenal:Hmmm... like one of your parents whom you feel very attached to left for overseas for a few months for some work or courses, or "touch wood" they were hospitalized for some reason for a long period of time, or they have to just go away due to work reason, leaving you alone with the other parent.
Did this ever happened to you? How else did you feel aside from being scared?
alfagal... where are you? Do you know what I am trying to rule out?Originally posted by ndmmxiaomayi:Nope. Never went overseas to work when I am young. Neither were they hospitalized.
Just scared. Will be crying. After a while, will be all right because got TV to watch. (shi wan ge wei shen mo)(in english --> hundred thousand why). The TV probably distracted me away from my fright.
No to all conditions.Originally posted by renorenal:alfagal... where are you? Do you know what I am trying to rule out?
Alright... let me see, a few more questions... do you noticed any of these when you have your panic attacks?
-low mood
-loss of interest in normally pleasurable activities
-decreased in appetite
-loss of weight, if yes how much (over a period of time)
-feelings of worthlessness, hopelessness or helplessness
I believe you already have poor concentration, loss of energy or fatigue, and feeling very slow in doing certain things...

I think yours is more of Situational Anxiety - an effect of a stressful situation temporarily overwhelms the ability to cope. This may occur in minor situations if it brings to mind the past overwhelming stresses that you could not handle.Originally posted by ndmmxiaomayi:Cannot control. Will not know when it will come.
It did not affect any part of my daily, social and recreational life.
