Sarport hor!
Yes Bonjela is one of the treatment in the form of gel (antiseptic) which is used effectively to treat oral ulcers...Originally posted by pisces8:I believe Bonjiala is good for treating the ulcer in the mouth. Just wondering whether there is any side effect?
It actually depends on individual... I don't like Bonjela... I prefer the one you said... tasty... minty... but that was when I was very small...Originally posted by DriftingGuy:Bonjela doesnt really work for my ulcers lei.. I use winter melon powder.. much more refreshing
Hahaha... reminds me of an incident when I was doing my 1st year medicine... I asked this friend of mine to put Dettol...Originally posted by rainee:lol I never apply anything when I have ulcer...but I heard got ppl put salt on it to make it recover faster
I see...I dun dare to put anything on ulcer...very painful leh...I will normally just let it heal by itself...Originally posted by renorenal:Hahaha... reminds me of an incident when I was doing my 1st year medicine... I asked this friend of mine to put Dettol...
He did and he was shouting at me all day long...
But somehow he felt better...
coz most of the bacteria colonizing the ulcers were Gram +ves...
And dettol with it's two "t"s kinda helps me remember which organism it targets... but nowadays, Dettol is not that useful anymore with increasing resistant from the bacteria...
Like they say, no pain no gain... which is quite true lar...Originally posted by rainee:I see...I dun dare to put anything on ulcer...very painful leh...I will normally just let it heal by itself...

Example is when you dislocate your shoulder and the doctors there will manipulate it with their strengths... ooooh!! to reduce the dislocation to its normal position...
If you are interested, it's called Closed Manipulative Reduction (CMR) and is well known since the time of Hippocrates...
No lar... that's just a belief...Originally posted by rainee:ic...
by the way, is it true that if you jump after you eat, you will get appendicitis?
ah...dats a relief...cos there are times when I ran and jumped after my meal...so scared I would kena appendicitis...Originally posted by renorenal:No lar... that's just a belief...
If we look at the human anatomy and track where the food travels once it is swallowed... you will notice that it stays in the stomach for 3-4 hours, and then to the small intestines for up to 6-10 hours before reaching the appendix (which is located at the terminal junction of the cecum (the first part of the large intestines). Hence, it would be more logical to think that jumping after 9-14 hours of your last meal will cause it, but this is also untrue lar...
The current believe of what may have caused appendicitis is from chronic constipation, with feces (poop) being impacted on the lumen (opening / hole) of the appendix leading to no outlet and which then leads to obstruction.
The toxins will then accumulate and this will create a good niche for the bacteria (G-ve) in that particular area to colonize. Once they do, it is believed that through this path that appendicitis happens.
Hahahaha, I was arguing about this too, one else very intelligent guy claimed showering at night will cause you backache.Originally posted by rainee:will showering late at night cause athritis? esp later when you are old?
Heard this from my friend once...dunno true or just some myth...
And also sleeping with your hair wet will make you crazy?
I think mine more of panic attack than GAD. Because description of panic attack is more accurate than the description of GAD.Originally posted by alfagal:Panic attack: intense fear accompanied by symptoms such as a pounding heart, trembling, shortness of breath or frea of losing control or dying.
1. situationally bound panic attack: occur before or during the exposure to a particular stimuli
2. suituationally predisposed: attack occurs usually but NOT ALWAYS in the presence of the freared stimuli
3.unexpected or uncued: those attack the occur spontaneously, without warning.
is tis wat u wanted?
No you won't...Originally posted by rainee:ah...dats a relief...cos there are times when I ran and jumped after my meal...so scared I would kena appendicitis...
Staying up late or having insomnia must have something to precipitate it.Originally posted by ironoxideman:hey doctor...any feasible cure for this excuse for staying up late called insomnia?
It is best to allow your food to get digested from the stomach first, and in this case, a period of 3-5 hours...Originally posted by dragg:how long after food is it safe to go running?
The first question involves a lot of controversy, but I believe that with the recent compilation of types of arthritis, none of it seemed to fit in the showering thing...Originally posted by rainee:will showering late at night cause athritis? esp later when you are old?

The common old-tale belief is that because the water left to dry on its own while you are sleeping will lead to the water seeping into your skull and into your brain and make you crazy...Originally posted by rainee:And also sleeping with your hair wet will make you crazy?
