Freezing rice prices: 5 supermarket chains

FIVE major supermarket chains here have pledged to keep prices stable for some of their house brand products for at least the next six months.
NTUC FairPrice announced on Friday that it will freeze prices of 13 types of house brand rice for six months, till end August 2011. This is on top of a previous commitment to freeze prices of the rest of its house brand products till 31 May.
Sheng Siong too will be freezing the its house brand rice for the next six months. At Giant, the prices of house brand rice, sugar and flour will remain stable.
