  I was just outside the depot, not in it.

  There are some buses available (i took 38), and after alighting, it was a approx. 3min walk there. If you walk along the track, there is an opening which enables you to get to the other side of the river (as i did), and a long grassy patch (which i did not go in). I only stood near the opening.
